Mafia starts with 1 bag by default. Town starts with 0 money by default. The bourgeoisie role adds an extra bag. Accountants can move money from one player to another, Pirates steal money from other players.

Where investigation is possible, either because you are a pirate stealing money (which is somewhat like an investigation) or because you are a tax collector who can check for dirty money, it's a guilty for which the reliability varies based on what roles are in the setup and what night actions were taken. Both uncertainties. It's a specific type of mechanically uncertain result that did not previously exist.

I can't just hand all the info out though, you see, because it makes the roles work standalone as well as while part of a set. Bourgeoisie implies other roles that interact with money, just like how a miller implies a cop, but neither necessitates anything. Similarly, the tax collector needs to function as a role without me telling mafia they start with a bag of money by default, unless the scumteam includes something that interacts with the dirty money mechanic.

Like, knowing that i had to keep at least one scum alive without knowing who it is for at least one extra day would have been pretty fucking vital knowledge.
