FLAVORThe wind picks up abruptly as nancy crosses the intersection coming out of the tunnel. Her hair blows across her face and blinds her until she can arrest it with her free hand. After getting it back under control on the safety of the sidewalk, she pulls it up and draws the elastic from her wrist to secure it in place. Just as she is tugging her hair through a second time there is a dull snap and the elastic comes loose in her fingers.

She fumbles with her smartphone. None of the buttons seem to cooperate, until she realizes that she's not using an iPhone anymore.

The storied buidlings that rise over the sidestreet give it a feeling of secluded privacy that is further heightened by immaculate display niches punctuating the walls. She walks in silence and touches the small posts that line the sidewalk, grazing her palm over the rounded tops in a daydream. The rhythm of her lover's voice in her mind carries her down the street as the slow crescendo of desire - for chocolate and for sex - overwhelms her in its swell.

How long can it take to reach the damn chocolate store.... I hate detours!
