On the 0.1% off-chance that they don't have a PT, it might be worth wondering why someone who's town aligned would lie to us.

when they can verify, I'm more than willing to take a leap of faith and assume that this isn't S&S because a 1st page neighborhood claim and over-committing to such a bluff this early on just isn't a scum winning strategy in my eyes, as so many things can go wrong in a closed setup like this.
As for T&S or T&T- Munch feels townie with pointing out the obvious flaws in my plan and seeing as Overkill made the claim 10 posts in I'll buy it and say he's also town for the same reasons as above. = T&T

Basically I immediately buy 0verkill and Munch as part of a neighbourhood, and I don't think the fact that they are part of a neighbourhood is indicative of being town or scum, apart from not being both scum.

Is everyone here expected to come up with something new on the spot and not contribute to something ongoing? That is a double standard otherwise. I think I will voice my concerns of something new when it comes, but considering I'm not online as often, that makes this difficult.

Yes, they can be S+T, but they can also be T+T. I don't think they can be S+S though, or at least, I've never seen a hood with only scum in singleball.

I mean yeah that sounds like it would be just a normal scum team. Scum + scum neighborhood I mean.

The difference would be that the flip would show "Mafia Neighbor." Having two Mafia Neighbors would be unusual but I don't believe it's prohibited, and if there was a mafia+mafia neighborhood they probably would want to claim it early particularly for that set of reasoning to set in. Still, would be pretty unusual, the sort of thing a mod would do just to mess with consensus beliefs that there's never an all scum neighborhood.

Munch recognized that proving there was a PT was a reasonable request pretty quickly after it was explained, but his initial reaction was "why are you asking me to break the rules" -- he was certainly being defensive in his first posts on the subject of proving the PT, whether he was being "overdefensive" seems more a matter of interpretation

this would be a good point but it assumes the scum team anticipated all the ways this plan could go wrong. That being said, S/S hoods are still very rare, although I guess my concern is the rarity of a S/S hood is precisely why a mod might put one in.

I have issue with that logic
-what's the difference between a S/S hood and..... you know.... normal... scum?
-the only case where I can THINK of that being relevant is if this is a game where scum requires an encryptor to day chat (not stated in these rules)

-The Mafia private thread will be open during both day and night phases

-from what I gather in open ~13 player games, there are MORE than 2 scum

So 2 scum are in a neighborhood and the other guys.... aren't...? My head does not comprehend such a scenario.

Now I doubt (gut instinct) that scum sat down, took the time to break down the potential (also unknown- this is a closed setup) risks/hazards/PR intervention and decided that this was a winning play (by post #10 no less). In this case I'd rather underestimate rather than assume this is an insane gambit they're pulling off.

I'll be acting under the assumption that both are town for the time being, provided overkill doesn't completely wreck that impression when he comes back.
