Cop claim was so bad day 2. I am surprised ame was town after that. Fake claims by town are bad for the game.
I was surprised the hood had 3 scum. When i saw clidd results i thought umlaut played up knowing scum in the neighborhood pt would have more then one scum.
So hotoc fooled me. Surprised i died n2Sarcasm is just a way of saying how stupid you think someone is but in a more polite way.- Auro

I think with regards to the meta---yes, that's true, but how many people actually bother looking up moderator meta? Not many in my experience. Furthermore, towns (and players in general) tend to be pretty bad at setup-speccing, so it isn't unreasonable for most people to nonchalantly assume all scum in a neighborhood isn't possible. Indeed, even after Umlaut pointed out my past review, most of the players ignored it in favor of it simply not being possible. Now, don't get me wrong, it isn't exactly proper to balance base completely off the meta game, but it is an important factor to consider. In post 2739, Auro wrote:
The main problem was that you had a public review of such a setup where you broke the same meta rule, which means our weapon of "oh, but meta!" What's the incentive for Quicknotto out that information immediately though?
- Informed FV immediately says there is 1+ scum in hood
- Town decides to lynch neighbors 1 and 2, leaving 3 and 4 for invests
- Invests individually target 3 and 4
And there's no reason for Informed FV to keep the info for long.
As for Quick claiming, I think you make a good point there. It's not really something I considered as most PRs are disincentivized from claiming early (especially in a normal setup), and I wrongly generalized that to all PRs.
I think if I ran this setup again (which certainly wouldn't be anytime soon), I'd adjust it to something like this:
Town 1-Shot Bulletproof Traffic Analyst
Town Combined Tracker Follower
Town Informed Fruit Vendor
7x Vanilla Townie
versus:
Mafia 1-Shot Rolecop Neighbor
2x Mafia Neighbor- Umlaut

I honestly believe Ircher just never anticipated that anyone would go looking through past setup reviews to meta-read the mod like that (he can correct me if I'm wrong here). I've never been in a game where anyone did that before. In post 2739, Auro wrote:The main problem was that you had a public review of such a setup where you broke the same meta rule, which means our weapon of "oh, but meta!" @Umlaut: Yup, and I am surprised people didn't buy it even after you linked that review thread. If I were town I wouldn't even bother solving, I'd just consider that solid evidence and vote within the hood till I hit scum.
But my main point was that independent of that, town strategy in the *unknown* case also screws us over
@Ircher: I'd remove the Informed, probably? Because even with a rolecop, the info being outed is the correct play, and my earlier reasoning for individual PR targets within the hood always makes them very vulnerable.- Umlaut

I believe that you think you would, and maybe it's even true that you would, but you are a bit biased by the fact that you already knew my conclusion was correct when reading the case.In post 2759, Auro wrote:@Umlaut: Yup, and I am surprised people didn't buy it even after you linked that review thread. Of course I carry some bias due to the difference in perspective, but I still think it's a solid argument. Klick in the dead thread agreed with it.- Hoctac

Wow you weren't kidding about not a lot of comments. I've never seen a review thread before where the reviewer just says "PASS" like that without any tweaks at all.“There are two kinds of people in this world: those who say, ‘There are two kinds of people in this world: those who say there are two kinds of people in this world, and the other kind,’ and those whodon’tsay. Well, then there’s me.” — J.R. “Bob” Dobbs - Umlaut
