If it were up to me, I'd have given scum a power role, but I'm extremely happy with how the game turned out overall, the level of participation and the game coming down to the final day.

Maybe as I gain more experience as a mod I will be more confrontational with reviewers about balance and fun but today was not that day.
You absolutely have nothing to apologize for about this game.

My question wasn't about the challenging nature, it was about if you thought players tried to outsmart the design in this game?

I don't think they did. I think town players tried to extrapolate from what they learned about the design.

So did the scum players. I told bork earlier tonight that I thought we wound up making almost the exact kill decisions we would have made in a mountainous setup. The only player we killed purely for their role was Ben, and we left him alone until the final day.

There was a lot of late game discussion about weather or not there were any scum power roles, so I would say they did.

So town should ignore what they learn about the setup from flips and claims?

Nope, I'm saying that town shouldn't expect all games to follow the same pattern as far as setup design.
