Fwiw, I was only super convinced you had to be scum because Datisi and Dunn didn't hammer me. It was like 12 hours and I was still alive. It only made sense

UGH WHY did I fight the Dunn kill. It’s the same trick I fell for in the Large Normal against NotMafia. And it cost the Town there for a bit but I had the time at least in that game to right the ship and really help seal it. And here it might cost us the game.

The hard thing is that site meta has really shifted away from ever yeeting lurkers.

People kept being like "what's the dunn case?" and I couldn't really make one because it was just about his D1 lurking! He would have been a good D1 yeet regardless of alignment. Instead I compromised with a scum

So the setup was made for low-swing, low-power, while giving scum an avenue of manipulation via the Neighborizer. It definitely worked on the low-power end, and I liked the high emphasis on Day-play. The swing part was kinda eh? It definitely did swing a bit and I think that can mostly be attributed to the fact that Nea's death was just demoralizing (which was not helping when combined with the 1000 replacements).

I think maybe a counter of some sort to the neighborizer that didn't require two roles working in unison might've been called for, because Scum pulled a sneaky one and neighborized one of their buddies, which added a bit of WIFOM into the mix. But I'll wait for the reviewers to get here (if they get here) before I make any balance calls like that.

I wish I could have stayed caught up, following along after I thrw in the towel was frustrating as hell haha. I realized I was barking up the wrong tree with VP and needed to be back on GC but I didn't have the energy or time to commit to this game that I would have needed to pull that off without looking like shit and having to deal with the fallout of that. I got overwhelmed thinking about how much work I had to catch up on re:GC if I wanted to actually do something with my case, and I was already having a hard time keeping up. I wish I didnt grant him the space he requested when I did, and I wish uh

I wouldn’t say this. My conclusion from this game isn’t that the Town couldn’t get anything going. Executing Green Crayons is definitely

something

. My conclusion is that Town needed to more quickly realize that when the game was going wrong, and the leading voices were leading us there, that we needed to be more self-critical and re-evaluate and re-read more. I had a hard time trying to navigate that myself, and I think a lot of us needed to do more of that.

I also want to congratulate the Scum Team who played well. I wouldn’t blame the loss even mostly on imploding PRs (I wouldn’t call what happened with Italiano that), but just on better play by Scum and bad play by Town. I think the RLotus execution was just... bad. And I’m responsible for that in a big way.

Also @Datisi really was like obvious Scum to me after the RLotus flip. A simple ISO of Datisi really revealed the level of sheer Scumminess and I waited too long to do it and I think those left there at the end should have at least taken a look.
