beef actually

a pork and beef combination makes for good meatloaf, but we're not making meatloaf here

I don't like pink's initial attempt to handwave it by saying that it was just an excuse to park an RVS vote. that's a lot of effort to go through just to park an RVS vote.

It's not an airtight case, maybe not even a good one, but it's there nonetheless. I don't think scum has anything to gain by throwing out a BS case right off the bat. Especially to use it as an excuse to "park their vote."

kuribo doesn't read the future, he couldn't know both Wave and me would vote Amici.

Fencesitting, that's what I'm saying.

So which is it? Was my question pointless because I had no way of knowing there'd be a hammer? Or was it obvious the day was going to end fast?

I'm not criticizing your hammer here, I'm criticizing your criticism of me trying to get someone's reads before a hammer. And yes, as you yourself proved there was validity to my urgency.

Do you have a problem with slots sharing their reads before their deaths?

Or did you just think I'd be easy pickings and you could come at me with a softball?

Yeah... those are unrelated.

Marashu looks like they were acsetic / rolestopped, because Ali and Dragons claim to have both targeted Marashu, and their actions failed.

Re:my comment on the no flip, I was thinking that maybe it was not a Janitor because the mod's post explicitly said "no one died" which feels weird if someone simply died and was janitored. Also, the fact that they are not listed as dead in the OP. If it was the night kill, I can see it being some kind of delayed flip though. Like flavor wise, they "kidnap" their target N1, and they "die" at the end of Day 2. So I am not really sold on it definitely not being the night kill? But atp, I think we just have to wait and see if anything happens.
This is a really good point and you're probably correct that there's nothing to be done about it right now

Let me tell you a few things about my town game and you can dive right in if you need to confirm:

I play by reading emotion, and it rarely fails me. I commune with the gods of murder and they bestow upon me the divine knowledge to discover the intent of those emotional outbursts that happen every day on this site.

I lay in wait. I let scum come to me. They can't help it, there's a primal urge not to waste a kill on me but my reads can be so erratic that they don't want me in endgame. Ask DGB about that time I townread her for months until *one* comment throwing shade at me tipped me off that she was scum. She's one of my favorite people on this site and I turned on her. Correctly, might I add.

I ask questions. The style isn't all emotion, I'm trying to catch someone in a lie or a hypocrisy. But once I identify that, I've got my opening. I get reads by interacting with people and judging how they interact with me. As well as interactions with the flipped dead. Mafia is a psychological game to me, and if you learn how people interact with you and with others, it opens its secrets to you.

So let me share with you my observations about you, seeing as you've had a 1v1 with SAS as well as a self-defeated emotional reaction while conversating with Alisae. Because, Pink Ball, both of those things are my bread and butter. And now that you've interacted with me, I can add that into my read of you:

Your interactions with SAS felt like scum caught for the wrong reasons. As I said at the time, I didn't think there was much to SAS's case, but I do believe he believed it. Your reaction gave me a sense of frustration that we've all felt when some townie locks onto us for some stupid reason and won't let off the gas.

Your interactions with me felt like an attempt to justify the accusation you made against me. Do I believe you saw me as an easy target? Maybe not, but it felt incredibly weak and an afterthought to a read that you made up whole cloth.

Your emotional nosedive in the conversation with Alisae was, I believe, genuine. I believe you were genuinely frustrated, even melancholy about your gameplay. I just haven't decided if it makes you town.

stupid to say a read without having an explanation.

Either I’m town actually trying to get a grasp in the game, or I’m scum thinking how to place myself.

In this case, let me do this again and tell me I’m an idiot if you still think I am.

I agree that asking for reads to someone who is getting eliminated is not only good for town but it’s even courtesy, courtesy that I didn’t have with the quick hammer.

The reason I suspect you is not for asking for the reads per se, is because to me it felt that you had the chance to ask for their reads before asking “who are you” like you didn’t even care about their reads ‘cause they weren’t actually useful for you.

Is that better articulated?
It is better articulated, but here's the thing: I wouldn't have asked for them if they weren't going to be useful to me. And I'm a bit more concerned that nobody, present company included, seemed to care enough to ask either.

I asked for a flavor claim because they had already claimed their role anyway. I don't like when people leave out information with the gun to their heads.

You make a partial claim that lets you off the hook, you can always revise or massage it later. Maybe think of a more town explanation.

I wanted the flavor right then and there because stalling is scummy. When it's your time to die, you tell the town everything you know unless it actively harms your wincon to do so.

This is why I asked for the flavor of the abilities: I was concerned that some of the abilities were either made up or scummy; a last ditch attempt to save their own skin. Flavor, especially in a u-pick, can shed light on that.

And this is just for future reference:

When I tell you "I want your reads," I am not asking for them, I'm telling you that you need to post them because there is a gun to your head.

And here's the thing, Pink, I'm not criticizing you for the hammer. It's fine tbh and it was almost certainly going to happen. If you and wavelength hadn't had done it, I probably would have. But I wasn't done finding out what I wanted to know. So for you to use that as evidence that I was "fence sitting," obviously gives me pause. Especially since I was trying to find out what the elim could tell us and you had no interest in the same, nor in observing my interaction with them.

I'm good with massclaim but I'd like to go close to last due to the nature of my role

If someone tries to fakeclaim any variation of my role, I will be counterclaiming them.

I'm willing to full claim now to the neighborhood as a sign of good faith, however

Yeah, but once I got him to finally tell me explicitly how it worked, I knew my invest should get a true result on him.

And to be fair, I did get the less suspicious result.

My result means that he did not attempt to carry out the night 1 kill. But after claiming that he was a miller for trackers, it seemed reasonable that he might have been the one to do the kill if he was scum

That's not how ircher said the role works though, you should be getting the most suspicious result on them no matter what:

Yes, I protected LLD N1 because I felt she was likely to be a target after revealing herself to be a double voter and because she's the player in the game that I have the longest and most experience with.

If y'all want to elim me then please do it today, a claimed doctor in a game where there might be a redirect is beyond useless anyway

This isn't 2012, you're not gonna get any rage that's gonna get me banned yet again if you're looking for that

I've played like shit, feel free to send me to the dead thread so I can mock y'all and post memes

doc has always been one of the roles im weakest at. I like it a lot more than I used to but I used to hate it so much that I'd end up blurting my claim out on day one

Nowadays I don't mind it but I also can't remember if I've ever successfully stopped a kill

I probably haven't been a doc in nearly a decade idk

If u play or want to play again I’ll hydra with ya
I think we have very similar ideas on how we want the game to be played
listen these days I'm just happy if I can get through the game without being a toxic piece of shit

You don't wanna hydra with me. Ask Mala or DGB, im pretty sure it's low key kinda stressful lmao

Stressful?
How?
Imagine waking up one morning and finding that your hydra partner has made 40 posts in six hours, in which he has claimed your role, voted the slot you share, and gotten himself banned

Me and mala had the added factors of the fact that we both work 60-70 hours a week and we had both lost someone important to us around the time of the last time we hydra'd together

Anyway, my biggest scum read is ircher, which I laid out the case for in my "if I die" post during the night phase in the neighborhood

I had suspicions of wavelength, albeit weak ones, and mostly based on associative tells between the slot and Marashu / ircher. Wave's play today has been perfectly cromulent so I'm not completely confident on that solve

I do feel like Pink is quite possibly third party, and after the refusal to claim flavor, I told LLD in the hood that I was assuming his flavor was Freddy Krueger. Merking the slot is not a priority as ircher is my strongest scum read. Pink's play today has been more town and most of the neighborhood seemed to agree that the slot was town when I asked on day one.

I am struggling to wrap my head around what could lead you to the conclusion of this specifically as a group solve?

And it looks like I am specifically here as a group solve, but this feels like probably the least likely list of partners for me??

What associative tells between me / ircher / marashu?
As I said, I laid out my reasoning before the day started, and so I no longer feel some of it applies, hence my use of "had" in the past tense.

Ircher named your slot as scum with Alisae and Marashu which I felt to be ridiculous. To me it felt like the old "name two scum and a town," with Ali being the town. You had posted in 440 that you "leaned scum" on both Marashu and ircher. I felt like on face value, that both of these were potential attempts to distance from one another. Marashu also parked what they called an "RVS vote" on you and never moved it off. I concluded that of ircher and yourself, you were the weakest of my scum reads because it was partially based on an unflipped player that I read as scum. I also concluded that if it's not you then my gut tells me it's Pink Ball or Flea.

That's essentially where I was during the overnight phase of the game.

You raise a good point but also if PB is third party then trying to imprison and kill scum right now would be suicide for him

With one scum down, PB would need to hunt and kill town for a while before killing most of the scum team. If that makes sense

join me in merking ircher

You agreed with me that the claim itself is scum, and I've laid out why I think the slot is scum by play
