One more to go. Think it's Dan but night actions should probably go elsewhere if they're not blocking roles to get more info

The last Mafia has conceded the game.

ActionDan, Shadow Hunters: 11 Card Expansion, a Mafia Rolecop, with a Roleblocker Expansion; and a Sidekick, with a One-Shot Bandage Gifter Expansion, has conceded the game!

Town wins!

The following have survived:
morph the cat, The King's Armory: Rhette the Pirate, a Town Nightkill Predicting Vigilante, with a Death Predicting Expansion!
Porkens, Mad Scientist Monster Lab Escape, a Town Delayer, with a One-Shot Roleblocker Expansion!
Dunnstral, Lanterns: The Emperor's Gifts, a Town Favor-Based Jack-Of-All-Trades, with a Beloved Status Gifting Expansion!
TwoInAMilion, Munchkin: Extra Parts, a Town Double Voter, with a Repeating Action Expansion!
gerryoat, Space Cadets: Dice Duel - Die Fighter, a Town Gunsmith, with a Macho Expansion!
Drixx, Pandemic: On the Brink, a Town Self-Watching Weakener, with a Limited Pool Doctor Expansion!
WhyMafia, Monopoly: Legend of Zelda, a Town Partial Motion Sensor, with a One-Shot Bulletproof Fairy Bottle Expansion!
randomidget, Smash Up: The Obligatory Cthulhu Set, a Town Dead Neighborizer, with a Dead Neighborhood Creator Expansion!

Full Role PMs will be posted under spoiler tags, with some brief commentary on role design and how it worked out in practice for each. Night action rundowns will follow, and lastly the PTs will be released.

Role PMs (commentary from PA-head):

On both sides, X-shot roles were lost if blocked/messed with; the two gifts (one Mafia, one town) were refunded.

Town:

Spoiler: morph the cat
Welcome morph the cat!

You are The King's Armory: Rhette the Pirate, a Town Nightkill Predicting Vigilante, with a Death Predicting Expansion!

Image

Powers:

Play the game--During the day you may post in the game thread and cast your vote.

Cheat and Shoot--Each night you may target a player. If that player is dead at the end of the night phase, you will gain a One-Shot Vigilante power to be used the following night. If you choose to use an obtained One-Shot Vigilante, you may not guess a player who will die at the end of the night phase to obtain another One-Shot Vigilante on the same night.

Polly Want A Cracker!--If you use a One-Shot Vigilante power to kill someone and they are Mafia, your faithful parrot will show up, allowing you to gain One-Shot Vigilante powers if the player you target dies at the end of the night phase OR is lynched the following day phase for the remainder of the game. The same restriction as in Cheat and Shoot applies in that you cannot submit a guess and a vig shot on the same night.

You win with the Town when all non-town-aligned players are dead and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

This didn't turn out all that great. Too finicky to use, and by the time it would likely have come into play, it would have been very late game anyways. Not necessarily when anyone wants to be shooting from the hip. This would have been better with a scum team where the scum had incentive to target one another with powers and the guess could have been whether a player was targeted by scum. Or make it guessing the lynch within the first 48 hours of a day phase. Something that doesn't involve so much mind-reading. I'm OK with the way the expansion triggered.

Spoiler: Porkens
Welcome Porkens!

You are Mad Scientist Monster Lab Escape, a Town Delayer, with a One-Shot Roleblocker Expansion!

Image

Powers:

Play the game--During the day you may post in the game thread and cast your vote.

They Lose A Turn!--Each night you may target a player and the resolution for any actions that player takes will be delayed until the following night phase. Any actions they take will count as being performed on that following night phase for all game purposes.

Escape for Victory--The first time you end a day phase with zero players voting you, you gain access to a one-shot roleblock. It may not be used on the same night you try to delay a player's action(s).

You win with the Town when all non-town-aligned players are dead and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Activating the expansion probably should have been a bit trickier, although since it's one-shot I'm not as upset about that. Overall OK with this role, especially since actions do eventually resolve under its conditions.

Spoiler: Chickadee
Welcome Chickadee!

You are Lords of Waterdeep: Scoundrels of Skullport, a Town Vote Freezer, with a Voyeur Expansion!

Image

Powers:

Play the game--During the day you may post in the game thread and cast your vote.

A-Questing We Will Go--In order to unlock your expansion power, you must place ten unique votes during the game. Unique here is defined as per player, per day phase. (So voting for The Betting Pool on Day One counts as unique, as does voting for The Betting Pool on Day Two, but voting for The Betting Pool on two different occasions on the same game day means the second instance does not count as unique) There must be someone else voting simultaneously with you for the player you are voting for in order for it to count. Once per day phase you may freeze someone's placed vote by PMing the mods. Using this power subtracts one from your accumulated ten unique votes. You may not freeze votes during MyLo or LyLo.

Look At Skulls--Once you have placed ten unique votes as defined above, you will no longer be a Vote Freezer. You will be a Voyeur! Each night you may target a player. You will learn what type(s) of action(s) were taken on that player that night from the following categories: {Investigative, Protective, Manipulative, Killing, None, No Result}.

You win with the Town when all non-town-aligned players are dead and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

This worked out better than I could have hoped.

Spoiler: Arcade Pals
Welcome Arcade Pals!

You are Lanterns: The Emperor's Gifts, a Town Favor-Based Jack-Of-All-Trades, with a Beloved Status Gifting Expansion!

Image

Powers:

Play the game--During the day you may post in the game thread and cast your vote.

Gather Favor--During each day phase, the mod will keep count of the largest wagon of votes on you, formatted as L-X. This may not be reflected in posted vote counts, as wagons may form between official mod vote counts. You may ask us by PM what the current value of 'X' is at any time. At the end of the day phase, you will receive 'X' Favor. That favor can be traded for one of the following powers, each one-shot and each to be used on the night obtained:

{5 Favor: Watcher, 4 Favor: Cop, 3 Favor: Tracker, 2 Favor: Neighborizer, 1 Favor: Mailman*}

*Message to be sent to another living player, limited to 200 words, where what counts as words is decided at the mods' discretion.

Become The Favorite!--If you go for an entire day phase with no votes placed for you, you may choose to forgo the usual honor for a one-shot Beloved Status Gifting that allows you to make any player in the game, including yourself, Beloved for the next day phase. This will not be available in LyLo or MyLo. This can only be chosen once during the game.

You win with the Town when all non-town-aligned players are dead and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

This is a role that I think was overpowered, even if it didn't play out long enough to be so. In hindsight I'd have nuked the cop, upped the number of required favor by at least one,
and...maybe shifted things down so the lowest power role was a fruit vendor. The Beloved part worked to let them give themselves another shot at a high favor number if needed.

Spoiler: TwoInAMillion
Welcome TwoInAMillion!

You are Munchkin: Extra Parts, a Town Double Voter, with a Repeating Action Expansion!

Image

Powers:

Play the game--During the day you may post in the game thread and cast your vote.

So Much Backstabbing, So Little Time--You have two votes to cast each day phase. Your first vote is cast publicly and will be displayed as your normal username (TwoInAMillion). Your second vote is cast by PM and will be displayed as Meeple. This second vote goes away at MyLo and LyLo.

Snatch An Extra Power!--If you end the day with either of your votes on the player who is lynched, you may choose to repeat their most recent action(s) the following night. You will not be told what the action is, but if it would normally receive resulting information from the mod, you will get that information.

You win with the Town when all non-town-aligned players are dead and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

I liked this one, even if the expansion never came into play for any effective night actions. The double vote didn't end up deciding any lynches either, as far as I can tell.

Spoiler: gerryoat
Welcome gerryoat!

You are Space Cadets: Dice Duel - Die Fighter, a Town Gunsmith, with a Macho Expansion!

Image

Powers:

Play the game--During the day you may post in the game thread and cast your vote.

Guns Locked On Target!--Each night you may target a player. You will be told whether that player has a gun: {The Betting Pool has a gun, The Betting Pool does not have a gun, No result}

Top Gun, Eh?--After four players are dead of any alignment by any method, you will become Macho. No protective effects will work for you.

You win with the Town when all non-town-aligned players are dead and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Plain role. Only modification I'd have made here would be to give scum a larger pool of ways to avoid the guilty here. Two town players (morph the cat and Arcade Pals) returned false positives. Creature could avoid it if he used a doctor shot or ascetic (as happened). Maybe make it a weaponsmith instead.

Spoiler: Drixx
Welcome Drixx!

You are Pandemic: On the Brink, a Town Self-Watching Weakener, with a Limited Pool Doctor Expansion!

Image

Powers:

Play the game--During the day you may post in the game thread and cast your vote.

Mutations Abound!--The first three players who target you over the course of the game will become Weak on the following night. They will be informed of this status change and its duration, but not its cause. You will be informed of who has become Weak.

Stay Ahead Of The Virus, Distribute The Cure!--Once three different players total have become Weak as a result of visiting you, you will become a Limited Pool Doctor. You will no longer be informed of who visits you, and anyone who visits you will not be temporarily Weakened. Each night you may target one player who has become Weak at sometime during the game. That player will be protected from all nightkills for that night phase.

You win with the Town when all non-town-aligned players are dead and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

No idea how this would have played out if it had actually gone into effect. Probably pretty swingy depending on who visited. Oh well.

Spoiler: WhyMafia
Welcome WhyMafia!

You are Monopoly: Legend of Zelda, a Town Partial Motion Sensor, with a One-Shot Bulletproof Fairy Bottle Expansion!

Image

Powers:

Play the game--During the day you may post in the game thread and cast your vote.

Collect All The Properties--Each night you may choose a player. You will learn how many other players visited your target.

Don't Break The Bottle!--The first time one of your targets is visited at least three times on the night you target them, you will obtain a One-Shot Bulletproof Fairy Bottle. The following night you may gift it to the player who received three visitors or keep it for yourself. It will protect its recipient from one night kill action during the remainder of the game.

You win with the Town when all non-town-aligned players are dead and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Tough condition to meet after the first couple nights, but the prize is worth it I think.

Spoiler: Something_Smart
Welcome Something_Smart!

You are One Night Ultimate Werewolf: Daybreak, a Town Village Idiot, with a Confusion Choice Expansion!

Image

Powers:

Play the game--During the day you may post in the game thread and cast your vote.

You Didn't Know Any Better...--Each night you may target one player. If that player takes any actions, any and all of their targets will be moved down one spot on the numbered player list of living players in the Opening post.

...But Now More Chaos!--Once at least one Mafia player is dead, you may choose if your action will move the target choice up or down the living player list.

You win with the Town when all non-town-aligned players are dead and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Messes with scum and town actions alike. For a Role Madness game I think this fit in quite well.

Spoiler: randomidget
Welcome randomidget!

You are Smash Up: The Obligatory Cthulhu Set, a Town Dead Neighborizer, with a Dead Neighborhood Creator Expansion!

Image

Powers:

Play the game--During the day you may post in the game thread and cast your vote.

One Small Creeping Tentacle For Cthulhu...--When the fourth town player dies by any means, you will get a neighborhood with that player for the following one game phase (either day or night).

...Two Entwined Tentacles For The Town!--After the above neighborhood activates and a subsequent Mafia player dies, you may give each of the next two dead Town players a one game phase neighborhood with another living player. No more than one of these neighborhoods may be with you.

You win with the Town when all non-town-aligned players are dead and at least one town-aligned player is alive.
[/quote]

Never came into play. Again, oh well.

Mafia:

Spoiler: General points about the Mafia roles
Each role came with two actions/expansions: one clearly scummy, one meant to be claimable and actually performable if needed. I didn't spell this out, but since the sample Town Role PM was available, it would be noticeable. Not sure it worked out as intended.

Spoiler: ActionDan
Welcome ActionDan!

You are Shadow Hunters: 11 Card Expansion, a Mafia Rolecop, with a Roleblocker Expansion; and a Sidekick, with a One-Shot Bandage Gifter Expansion

Image

Powers:

Play the game--During the day you may post in the game thread and cast your vote.

Alliances--You may communicate with your fellow Mafia in this PT as long as you are alive. You and your cohorts may designate one of your number to shoot another player.

In addition you may choose to perform ONE of the following actions:

No More Hidden Identities--Each night you may target one player. If successful, you will receive a complete copy of that player's Role.

Neutral-ize Their Schemes--Each night you may target any player whose Role you successfully obtained previously via 'No More Hidden Identities' and if successful block any actions that player takes during that night phase.

Work With Others--Each night you may target one player. If successful, any non-killing actions directed at that player will target you instead.

Heeeere's Bob!--On any one night after at least one player of each alignment is dead, you may choose to gift another player with a bandage. If they are killed on a subsequent night, instead of dying at the start of the next day phase, it will be announced that they have been shot and are wearing a bandage. They will remain alive as a full player until the end of that day phase, at which point they will die. Once you have gifted your bandage, you will lose access to 'Work With Others' for the remainder of the game.

You win with the Mafia when players from your faction are the only ones alive or nothing can prevent that from happening.

Another role where I don't know how it would have worked out. The limited block may have been better in reverse, where only players whose role PMs were unknown could be blocked.
It would have been more strategically interesting, at least. The bandage gifting also required some planning, as it didn't work the same night it was given.

Spoiler: Creature
Welcome Creature!

You are Stratego: Legends, a Mafia Jack-Of-All-Trades, with an Evasive Expansion; and a Gladiator, with a One-Shot Bulletproof Expansion!

Image

Powers:

Play the game--During the day you may post in the game thread and cast your vote.

Alliances--You may communicate with your fellow Mafia in this PT as long as you are alive. You and your cohorts may designate one of your number to shoot another player.

Better Matches--Each night you may choose to use one of the following one-shot powers: {strongman, ninja, doctor}

Traveling Fancy and Punching Up: Flight and Teleportation--For the first two instances when you are voting for a player with a higher number on the player list than you and they are lynched, you will gain a one-shot power: {ascetic, commuter} in that order to be added to the pool in 'Better Matches' with still only one usable per night and only usable once during the game.

Face Off--Once per game, you may use a One-Shot Gladiator to reduce the lynch pool for the day to yourself and one other player of your choice. This must be done during the first half of the day phase by PMing the mod and may not be done during LyLo or MyLo. This lynch will be by plurality vote.

Inspirational Story--If you survive using 'Face Off' you will gain a One-Shot Bulletproof power for the subsequent night phase.

You win with the Mafia when players from your faction are the only ones alive or nothing can prevent that from happening.

The JOAT pool let him duck most of the PRs in the game. Cop was duckable only with expansion gains, another reason I wouldn't have used a one-shot cop for the town JOAT in hindsight. Gladiator also didn't come into play.

Spoiler: Mad King Ashnard
Welcome Mad King Ashnard!

You are Settlers of Catan: 5-6 Player Expansion, a Mafia Information Receiver, with a One-Shot Redirection Expansion; and a Reporter, with a Follower Expansion!

Image

Powers:

Play the game--During the day you may post in the game thread and cast your vote.

Alliances--You may communicate with your fellow Mafia in this PT as long as you are alive. You and your cohorts may designate one of your number to shoot another player.

In addition you may choose to perform ONE of the following actions:

A Fair Trade--Each night you may target a player. If successful, you will receive any results that player receives as well, unbeknownst to them. This will take the form of whatever mod communication was used to inform them of their results, with no further explanation provided to you.

Walk The Road--If five town players in a row have died, you will gain a one-shot Redirect that can be used to force the targeted player's actions to be redirected onto the player of your choice that night.

Reporter Or Robber?--Each night you may target one player. If successful, you will learn if they were involved in any activity that night, defined as taking an action or having an action taken on them (not counting yours). Results will be from the following: {Player X was active, Player X was not active, No result}

Follow The Yellow Brick Road!--Once six players are dead, each night you may target one player. If successful, you will learn what type(s) of actions they took from the following pool: {Investigative, Protective, Manipulative, Killing, None, No Result}

You win with the Mafia when players from your faction are the only ones alive or nothing can prevent that from happening.

Another Mafia info role, with a safeclaim that directly explained having visited other players. High reward expansion with the redirection that, unlike town's, can be purposefully chosen.

Mafia PT

Spectator/Dead PT

Game Design PT

Some game design and reviewing happened by Facebook chat and Discord chat respectively.

Moderator PT

The above will be de-privatized once the game thread is unlocked for post-game discussion.

Thanks to mhsmith0, Tammy, and GuyInFreezer for the game review. It was a better game design for their suggestions, and we appreciate their time in reviewing, especially given the UPick nature of the game.

Thanks for T-Bone for checking in as needed.

Finally (PA-head posting this), thanks to Lucky2u for agreeing to co-mod this game! It was a lot of fun to design, and it's always fantastic to work with him.

Other Co-Mod here, just want to say a few things:

As you will likely read in the dead thread there were some allegations as to Mod misconduct. We take this very seriously and I don't want to discourage people from having their say, however I would like this post game not to devolve into a site drama mess so we ask that if you have questions or comments on that subject to keep things civil or to contact T-Bone if you feel the need.

Thank you to the reviewers who read our setup, we appreciate your time and effort.

Thank You to Penguin for co-modding with me. While the game didn't turn out how we would have liked, I had fun designing it her and geeking out a bit on board games. My personal favorite mechanic was the meeple, and I very much enjoyed Chickadee freezing the meeple.

Thank You to all the players for playing.
