VOTE: ClumsyPhoenix

Considering the mod isn't a valid option in the list. I just can't overcome you getting no results and me not dying. It looks like a CC you backpedaled from. Like you bet the farm on me not having protected you and when I did your plan was fucked. Between that and my gut read of you scum I just can't get over it.
ScumBlade's eloquent performance left me utterly disoriented, debased, depraved and sent me spiraling into a horrific murky abyss with emotional turmoil and immense despair as my only companions until slowly I suffocate in my own gloom, surrounded by failure. The final card had been laid down. In who's favor? Only the chairman knew for now. Distraught at not having been the first to place down all the cards, however, the chairman looked at the one they had decided was the dirty cheater trying to ruin the game...

Who laid down the final card?
Was Clumsy Phoenix the real dirty cheater?

~

The chairman threw the cards on the ground in a fit of rage. This had not gone as intended. At least the chairman would still be the chairman...

Wet Blanket (If you can successfully explain a rule to a mod, it becomes revealed)

Mod Chairman Mao

5 Non-quack town roles
4 quack roles
3 3p roles
2 cheater roles
1 mod role

Spoiler: Action Resolution Order
Action Resolution goes in the following order:
Usurper
Quack Doc
Dirty Cheaters
Quack Cop
Psychologist
Quack Tracker
Quack Watcher
All other roles simultaneously

Win conditions can be met simultaneously. The following is the order of win priority:
1) Jester
2) Dirty Cheaters
3) Usurpers
4) Town

Spoiler: Non-Town Role PMs
Usurper Role PM wrote:You are the
Usurper
.

You want power, and desperately wish to be the Chairman. To do that, you will recruit players to join you.

Each night, you can recruit a player to your Cult, with some caveats. Certain players (eg mafia) may not be recruited. Other third party roles may be recruited, but their recruitment PM will be different than anyone else’s. You have no method of communication with your recruits, other than through a single message you choose to them with the recruit.

Aside from that, you have two shots of the following ability: full conversion. Instead of recruiting a player, you can take someone you have already recruited and make them a
Permanent Recruit
. This allows you a private topic that will be open at all times between all fully converted cultists.

You win once the chairman is dead, and your faction makes up half of the remaining players, or when nothing can prevent this.
Usurper Cult Recruitment PM wrote: You have been recruited to usurp the Chairman.

<message from Usurper>

You do not know your teammates or leader, nor do you have a method of talking to them, save the message above.

You now win once the chairman is dead, and your faction makes up half of the remaining players, or when nothing can prevent this.
Fully Converted Usurper Cult PM wrote: You have been fully converted.

You may meet your leader and fellow cultists here:
You may talk here at any time.

You still win once the chairman is dead, and your faction makes up half of the remaining players, or when nothing can prevent this.
Usurper Cult Recruitment PM for Jester wrote: You have been recruited to usurp the Chairman.

<message>

You do not know your teammates or leader, nor do you have a method of talking to them, save the message above.

You gain an extra win condition, and one more post restriction to follow.

Restriction: You cannot mention a cult in any way, or use the word “cult”.

Extra Win Condition: You win when the cult leader dies.
You still win when you are lynched.
Survivor Cult Recruitment PM wrote: You have been recruited to usurp the Chairman.

<message>

You do not know your teammates or leader, nor do you have a method of talking to them, save the message above.

Your win condition is now the following: You win with the town if you are the last remaining cultist.
Note: The usurper cannot recruit Mafia, the current Psychologist (backup can be recruited), or the Wet Blanket (primary role). The usurper cannot fully recruit the survivor or jester, and a shot will not be used upon attempting this.
Survivor Rule Revisor wrote: You are a
Survivor Rule Revisor
.

At any time, you may add or edit a rule, by sending the following PM:

Add: Rule #n) <your rule>
, where n is the rule number,
Or
Edit: Rule #n) <the current rule, with your change>

Invalid rules (which the Chairman deems too gamebreaking or stupid), or rule numbers / edits that make no sense, will be ignored and a shot will be used.

You have 5 shots for this ability. There is a possibility to gain more.

You win if you are alive at endgame, with whatever faction does the endgaming.
Heavily PRd Jester role PM wrote: You are a
Heavily Post-Restricted Jester
.

You have the following post restrictions:
  • You must break a rule every game day. Post restrictions in this PM do not count towards this. Penalties may or may not apply to you.
  • You may not vote the Mod.
  • You cannot say the words “Jester”, “Cult”, “Survivor”, “Mafia”, or “Chairman”, even though you know these all exist.
  • You are limited to 140 characters per post. This doesn't include images.
  • You cannot say you are post restricted.
Additionally, you are 9-shot Bulletproof until Day 4. If you break a post restriction, a day of being bulletproof is removed for each offense.

You win when you are lynched or modkilled in a way that wouldn't get you blacklisted in other games.
Dirty Cheater Role PM wrote: You are a
Dirty Cheater
.

You may talk with your faction here: <link>

You are 1-shot bulletproof.
Each night, your faction may carry out a kill by bolding in the private topic, “Kill: Player”.

You win when all other factions are eliminated, or nothing can prevent this from happening.
Mod Chairman Mao Role PM wrote: You are the
Mod Chairman Mao
.

You enforce the rules. No rules in the first topic apply to you, unless added by the Survivor.

You do have a single vote, independent of votes made by the rules. This vote cannot be used to hammer, and must be placed using a random number generator, or at least be amusing or something.

Each night, at the beginning of night, you may choose to select a "winner" for the day. That person will be allowed to create one rule, edited at the discretion of the moderator. This is announced in the thread. You may not edit revealed rules. Involve the dead thread in this decision if possible.
Each day, you may make a new rule or edit an existing one, to be enacted starting at night time. This is announced in the thread. You may not edit revealed rules.

As the mod, it takes the entire playerlist, minus one, to be lynched.

You cannot lose. You cannot win (unless everyone has fun).
Daily Winner PM wrote:Congratulations! You have won the day. Objectively!

You get to create a rule, to be enacted starting at the next day phase. It will be announced in the thread that a new rule was made.

Rules that are too gamebreaking will be ignored or edited by the Chairman.

Spoiler: Town Role PMs
Quack Cop wrote:You are a
Town Rules Police
(Town Cop).

Each night, you may investigate one player to find out if they are part of the rule-abiding Town faction or not. Games are less fun when people cheat!

You win when all threats to the Town have been eliminated.
Quack Doctor wrote:You are a
Town Parent
(Town Doctor).

Each night, you may choose one player, and prevent other players from kicking them out of the game. Everyone should be allowed to enjoy a game together!

You win when all threats to the Town have been eliminated.
Quack Tracker wrote:You are a
Town Tracker
.

Each night, you may choose one player to find out where they go.

You win when all threats to the Town have been eliminated.
Quack Watcher wrote:You are a
Town Watcher
.

Each night, you may choose a player and find out who visits that player.

You win when all threats to the Town have been eliminated.
Psychologist wrote:You are a
Town Psychologist
.

Some people want power, and the insane don't know their limitations because of their insanity. Luckily, you can fix this, so everyone can enjoy the game properly!

Each night, you may choose one person, and do your psychology on them. This provides beneficial effects only for town.

You win when all threats to the Town have been eliminated.
Backup Psych + Wet Blanket wrote: You area
Town Backup Psychologist
and a
Wet Blanket
.

Should the current Psychologist leave the game while you are still alive, you will receive their role PM.

Aside from that, you are also an annoying kid, known as a Wet Blanket. At any time, you may send a PM to the mod, explaining a rule, and have that rule revealed to all. You may use this ability 5 times. Each time you are correct, it takes one more vote to lynch you. Each time you are incorrect, you will be assessed a penalty, which you will not be told.

You win when all threats to the Town have been eliminated.
The penalty is, it takes one less vote to lynch you.
Flavor Detective wrote: You are a
Town Flavor Detective
.

Each night, you may investigate one person. The following day, in the opening post, a clue to that persons role will be put into the flavor.

You win when all threats to the Town have been eliminated.
Wet Blanket wrote: You are a
Town Wet Blanket
.

You are an annoying kid, known as a Wet Blanket. At any time, you may send a PM to the mod, explaining a rule, and have that rule revealed to all. You may use this ability 5 times. Each time you are correct, it takes one more vote to lynch you. You already know these vote effects wear off after Day 4, or when it would be gamebreaking otherwise.

You win when all threats to the Town have been eliminated.

Sorry for guessing wrong guys :( Didn't think about Quack setup's and the mafia kill thing was just too weird to stomach and made it look like the hydra was trying to do anyone but me mode. :/

Lmao, that was why?! Yeah, this game was a bit of a train wreck from everyone.

I was kind of thinking we were just not getting results due to something like that, but I had no idea we had THAT many quacks. Certainly interesting.

It certainly put a lot of reliance on Karnos, who kind of royally fucked up with the soft claim. I was mad at him, and I was scum!

Yeah, Karnos cured ironstove.

So wait, did ironstove make up the fact that they made a new rule? Or did they also get to make up a new rule?

He made it up. I tried to get mostly Clumsy a little you lynched with it.

Voting multiple times in the same post would have gotten the voter hammered. I was trying to get him lynched.

FYI what were the other rules?

The fact that every single night it happened (except for when scum was hung), and a game like Mao where there are a ton of rules that haven't been discovered, it made sense to me. It's still one of the biggest coincidences I've ever seen so far.

It's not really that big of a coincidence. If you have such complex scum kill patterns, chances are that after trying a ton of patterns, one or the other pattern matches the way the kills pan out.

Anyway, bastard games like these are always a bit tough on town. Mod, it might be helpful to give town a bit more pointers in such a game next time. Like, take the 9 town roles together in the role distribution so you can in the end find out what you're hunting. Just might have decreased apathy a little bit.

Overall, very good modding!

Yeah, but I didn't want to make everything too obvious, you know?

Also, lynching the mod would have revealed the distribution labels + an update of it. I expected that to happen earlier on. I made a lot of things too complicated though. My next game will be fairly close to normal I think.

Meh, in a game about hidden rules, trying to figure out the rules is a big deal. I thought I was onto something. I was wrong, but that pattern means more in a Mao game than other mafia games.

gg anyway, was an interesting game.
