Conduct

• Don't use

Voting, abilities, and deadlines

Day

• Days begin with a deadline of (number of living players) IRL days.
  
  
• Days end when one of the following events occurs:
  • The deadline is reached.
    
  • A lynch (or no-lynch) is achieved.
    
  • A town-aligned player is modkilled.
• Votes should be made via the vote tag: "[vote]<playername>[/vote]" or "[v]<playername>[/v]". Full player names or initial segments thereof are preferred.
  
  
• When more than half of living players are voting for the same player, that player will be lynched and the day will end. Votes are irrevocable once a majority is achieved.
  
  
• You may vote not to lynch by voting for "No lynch". When half or more of living players do so, the day will end without a lynch.
  
  
• If the day reaches deadline without a majority, there will be no lynch.
  
  
• I will interpret malformed votes according to my own discretion. In general, if it looks like a vote, I will probably count it as a vote. I reserve the right to edit malformed votes for easier counting.
  
  
• When a majority vote has been achieved but not yet recognized by the moderator, the game is in
  twilight.
  Players, including the lynchee, may continue to post during this period.
  
  
• Under certain rare circumstances I may elect to extend the deadline. I will announce this in thread if it occurs.

Night

• Nights will last
  48 hours
  or until all living players PM me their approval to end the night early.
  
  
• During the night, you should be unable to post in the public game thread. If for some reason you are able, doing so is still against the rules.
  
  
• Mafia kills should be posted in the Mafia PT. Mafia may choose not to kill, either explicitly or by failing to submit a kill.

Activity requirements

• Players who do not reply within
  48 hours
  of receiving their role PM will be replaced.
  
  
• Players who do not post for

  in a single game-day will incur a prod.
  
  
• Players who do not post for
  24 hours

Mechanics

This game is 2:11 mountainous.

Each player's role PM has, in addition to their alignment (

Townie

or

Mafioso

), one of the following post restrictions.

• Standard:
  20-16-12-8-4
  
• Verbose:
  25-20-15-10-5

These numbers indicate how many posts the player is allowed to make on Days 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5+.

Naked votes count as posts; however, if you reach your post limit for the day, you may continue to make up to one post per 24 hours consisting solely of a vote or unvote.

Mafia may post freely in their private thread, but only at night.

Players who exceed their post limit once will be warned. Players who exceed their post limit twice will be modkilled.

The Town wins when all the Mafia are dead; the Mafia win when half of living players are Mafia. Any end state where neither condition is met is a mutual loss.

This game is not really designed with the current shitposty meta that the site seems to enjoy, its really where cold, precise, and methodical players get their rocks off. Therefore I suggest either straight pushing or RQSing.

OK, the reason why I want a massclaim is 1.to know, 2.we dont know if it is AI, I just have this feeling that it is (as I explained in one of my other posts) and 3.Verbose players have a small advantage, so I guess we could try not to lynch them in equal circumstances. Like, I'd rather lynch a Standard player.

If carca wants to waste all her posts then by all means she can go ahead. Based on what she's saying, I honestly don't think she will be a strong asset. I don't even really want to entertain anything she has said and just hope she keeps talking to herself until the mod tells her to stop.

People are going to use the post restrictions as an advantage to not talk, which is what my main concern is. I don't want that become a timely excuse because it obstructs information we can get from other players. I'm not really thinking too hard about my post-count because it's not relevant until I get close to my cap, and I don't think others should be either. That being said, I think scum has more incentive to burn through posts than town, referring to what I said earlier. Do I think all scum will use this tactic? Unlikely. If I didn't know any better, I'd be suspecting Carca and Vedith from the start, but more specifically Vedith who highlighted that 'people will call you scum for this' because it's a very awkward thing to say, especially to not question carca directly if you really believe that. Did he really believe that? I don't know. He's

Damn reroll, went from verbose to standard. I'm in favour of claiming verbouse/standard and keeping track of post counts. With 13 real life days for this day and myself with only 20 posts, I will attempt to spread out my posts so that I can actually communicate with anyone who has posts left towards the end of the day.

I also agree with Dragnalus, scum would be trying to burn through posts early so they have a "reason" to float towards the end of the days. Also I won't even just say burn through them early. Burn through them with multi-posting and 1-2 liners of a sentence or two each.

Anyway, back to it. I think the best course of action for now might be to agree now to the idea that anyone caught trying to run up their post count to run out of posts early will be voted on even if they can't defend themselves. If they run out of posts before we're even half-way through the day phase or found a reasonable lynchee, then the action is in itself scummy and scum-motivated. Thus we need to agree to run anyone up trying to weasel their way out of contributing in the late day phase process.

If anyone has a better phrasing suggestion, they can PM me. "Protected class" depends on legal jurisdiction, and I don't want a list of dozens of isms that are specifically disallowed. General-purpose insults (e.g. "dipshit") are not very nice but not actually against the rules, so I can't just say "no insults." In the meantime, the "Don't game the rules" rule remains in effect.
