Just gotta be here more is a big part of it.
The only really sketchy thing was claiming that you were hunting for flavour and I think that you being more engaged might have helped with knowing not to say that.
The early pushes on you came more just from PoE, rather than you having said anything particularly egregious.

Definitely don't think you played as bad as you think you did though.
I'm just bullheaded/ruthless.

Obviously bc when you want someone lynched you make reasonable arguments that are pretty hard for them to defend against. I could never build a case on anyone (much less on you) as eloquent as you do.

I was surprised that so many people came to that assumption, but I guess people usually do default to what's normal for a mafia game.
I think the wincon of the Dead being so different would've tipped people off that they were more of a survivor faction, and I was hoping for uncertainty about which of The Father of Death/The State had a kill and was against the town.

you'd think, since we win by eliminating the dead, Almost and i would have been in the best position to figure out that both the State and TFoD wanted the Dead alive.

I also got a chuckle out of Xiao Long taking time to connect flavor to try to present The Father of Death as the killing faction because that's literally how the plot plays out in the songs; The State convinces people that Thomas Light is responsible for murders committed by the robots he made, all in order to ensure control/power over the people.

And I was right, the Father of Death WAS responsible for the kills cause Dr. Light built Protoman who was killing everyone.
Obviously the FoD was the true scum.

The problem with that though is that it's way harder for me to initiate a push on anyone. I need SOMETHING to go off of, and sometimes there just isn't anything.

If I hadn't been so sure about Vax being probscum, I would have fought really hard to get you lynched. Or maybe drealmerz I guess. I mean you can see that from the way the day played out. I listed those three as my suspects for different reasons. It was really interesting to see how close you guys came to outright claiming. Had you done so, you would have almost certainly been lynched, then Xiao and I would have shot vax and investigated someone else, or vice versa, possibly while using our immune to lynch power to make xiao our spokesman to push for that last chance of winning with the town. So high chance we would have had our shot fail like yours did, and then been all in on getting vax lynched.

Basically, deciding to not claim *probably* allowed you to win.

@Varsoon: That whole survivor town thing didn't really click with me until A50 mentioned it during his speculation. I was more focused on how the phrasing allowed us to win with the town, rather than the implications it had for the towns role in the overall setup.

@Chara: WHY WAS I TOWN? ^^ You suddenly decide we were town partway through D2, and sure you gave reasons in thread, but I'd like you to revisit that line of reasoning if you don't mind.

@Drixx: Dude, it was bad idea and if not for the fact that you came in and dealt with the mess you made on D2 I'd say you should feel bad for suggesting it. On the plus side though, all we need to do now is fake claim masons and IC AS town in a couple games, and then there will basically be evidence of us taking every single questionable line people ever consider.

@Havo: Yeah, lack of engagement was your biggest problem. Other people did a lot to make themselves obvtown, and you also had cop effects going off to narrow the pool even further. The claim that you weren't scumhunting was really just the last straw.

@Yume: Because we're the state, and even though we won with the dead, we're still in charge.

Oh, and we made another mistake: Claiming that our ability was dependent on another role living. We assumed that role would be pure town, so I'm sure that's why Drixx didn't imagine there could be any downside to the claim...BUT there was really no benefit to including it in our claim either. It was an unnecessary risk.
