Do not quote communications with the moderator (in particular, your role PM). Quoting the timestamp of your role PM counts as quoting your role PM. Paraphrasing communications, however, is usually ok.
General game rules:

A lynch is reached when a majority of all players (half rounded down plus one) are voting for the same target.
If a majority is not reached by the deadline, whoever has the most votes will be lynched. If there is a tie, I will randomize among those who have the most votes. If no one has votes, I will randomize the lynch among the town-aligned players.
Votes for no lynch will be considered invalid and will be ignored.

or use the VOTE: Player tag. Votes that are not bolded or tagged will not be counted. Votes using voting tags are appreciated, particularly if a vote is part of a giant wall post.
Votes in quotes, spoiler tags or otherwise hidden will also not be counted.
Votes that misspell or have other minor errors will be counted as normal as long as I understand what you are getting at.
Unvotes are helpful, but not necessary. Let me know if I make an error in vote counts and I will correct them.
I will try and do vote counts often but if you want one just let me know. In general, I will be mainly available evenings (5 PM - 12 PM Pacific) and weekends, so you may not get a quick VC if it's in the middle of the day.
As the MOD I will keep communication down to the absolute minimum possible (aside from vote counts and the like). I do not want to influence the game itself – that is for the players to do.
This is an open setup. The setup will be described in a post below.
Flips will have alignment revealed only. What type of cop someone is will not be revealed until endgame.
Game Flow:
The Game will begin and the thread will be unlocked after 10 players confirm via PM, or 48 hours after role PMs are sent, whichever is faster. I will not, however, unlock the game thread before 24 hours have passed.
I will force-replace any player who has not picked up their role PMs within 72 hours after I send out role PMs.
If you have not posted for 48 hours you will receive a prod. If you do not post within 24 hours of a prod you will be replaced. A naked "prod dodge" does not reset the prod timer. To avoid being prodded/replaced for inactivity, include some game advancing content in your prodges, such as "got prodded; xxxx is still scum."
Please announce if you are going on V/LA. I prefer this announced in thread unless there is a specific reason not to. If you are on V/LA, you are still expected to post in thread at least every 96 hours. If this is an issue for you, please discuss it with me PRIVATELY via PM.
Three prods may result in being replaced at my discretion. Three prods in the same day phase, or four prods in the span of two day phases, WILL result in you being force replaced for inactivity.
The first two day phases will last a maximum of 14 days. Day Three will last a maximum of 12 days, Day Four a maximum of 10 days, and all subsequent Days Phases no more than 8 days.
Each Night Phase will last 48 hours. Starting on Night Three, I will accept speed deadlines if ALL living players ask for it via PM.
You may communicate as normal during the twilight phase until I close the thread but votes/un-votes will not count.
Extensions may be granted for replacements or extenuating circumstances. I reserve the right to not respond to any requests for extensions; unless you hear that I have granted an extension, you may presume that I have not granted an extension. Extensions will almost never be granted more than 72 hours before EOD, barring extreme situations such as planned site shutdowns. Replacements may, at my discretion, see the deadline counter reset to up to 72 hours.
Since night actions (investigations AND kills) are mandatory, a missed Night Action will result in a randed action.
The game will end when all threats to town have been eliminated or that is not possible.

If a player replaces out while having a vote active, that vote will remain active until such time as the replacement chooses to unvote or vote elsewhere. The sole exception is when a player replaces out while self-voting. In that case, the act of replacing in is considered an automatic unvote.

All players are cops, but of varying sanity. Cop roles can be:
Sane cops - all results are correct
Insane cops - all results are reversed
Naive cops - all results are innocent/town/etc
Paranoid cops - all results are guilty/mafia/scum/wolf/etc
Random cops - all results are random
There are 13 cop roles, and they will be distributed as follows:
4 random cops
2 sane cops
2 insane cops
2 naive cops
2 paranoid cops
1 additional cop, randed among the five sanities
In addition, scum will be assigned 1 random cop, 1 sane or insane cop, and 1 naive or paranoid cop, with town receiving the remainder of the roles. NO PLAYER is told the type of cop they are (and flips do not show the role either), just that they are a cop. All players must therefore determine their cop flavor through investigations and lynches.
Lynches and night kills are mandatory, and players cannot check themselves or a player who is already dead (a player who dies that night, though, is fair game).

Due to a severe shortage of police officers, our once fair city has enacted a new policy requiring our police department to accept all willing recruits. As a consequence, dozens of losers and yahoos have enrolled in our police academy. And this class is the worst of the lot. 13 slobs who wouldn't know how to run a criminal investigation if we paid them for the privilege (which apparently we're about to do). Also, apparently new department policy obligates me to tell you that three of you are plants sent by the brass to destroy the rest of the group, and I guess the rest of you need to get rid of those guys before they get you all expelled.
Either way, every day I'm kicking out whichever one of you slobs has the lowest test score, and every night Chief Hurst is gonna send some goons to "retire" whichever of you bozos pisses him off the most. We'll keep doing this until there's a group of graduates who've learned to work together and overcome the obstacles in your path... or until I get bored. Probably the latter, to be honest. Turns out I get paid either way.
