THE RULES

Fundamental Rules

• 0. The moderator is always right, except when he’s not. If you have a question, PM me.
  1. All site-wide rules apply.
  2. Rule violations may result in modkills, force-replacements, or, if egregious, game abandonment.
  3. Only post in this thread if you are in the game and alive. Posting meaningful content after you are dead may result in a posthumous modkill. One “Bah” post is okay, but it cannot contain game-related information.
  4. Modkilled players will be changed to a Neutral Survivor, and if town-aligned, end the day. Modkilled players cannot win.
  5. Do not discuss ongoing games on this or another site unless that game explicitly allows outside communication. This includes games you are not in or dead. This includes referring to them vaguely as “an ongoing game” or “[redacted]”. This rule also applies to discussing this game outside this thread or any relevant private topics.
  6. Role PMs trump these rules if there is a conflict.
  7. Pretending to violate a rule counts the same as violating the rule.
  8. Be nice.

General

• 9. If you have a win condition you can achieve, you have to play to it.
  10. Personal meta arguments are allowed, but do not use trust tells, as this is implicitly not playing to your win condition in games you are scum-aligned.
  11. Do not quote any private communication with me or another moderator, including your role PM. Paraphrasing is allowed. You may quote PMs that you sent, but you cannot include timestamps or proofs of authenticity.
  12. Do not use encryption, hidden text, or excessively small text. Breadcrumbing is allowed.
  13. Do not use provable randomness such as dice tags. I allow an exception for early Day 1 “RVS” votes, but you probably shouldn’t use it.
  14. Do not edit or delete your posts. If you accidentally double-post or mess up formatting on a post and you want it to be fixed, please PM me. I will only change formatting, not the content of the post.
  15. My color is

Voting

• 16. Votes and unvotes should be in
  bold
  or VOTE: tags.
  17. Votes in quote or spoiler tags will not be counted, as I assume that you're quoting a vote, not casting one.
  18. Pseudovotes are allowed and will not be counted. Barring that, if it looks like a vote and I know who it’s for, it’s a vote. If I do not understand who it’s for, I will treat it as an unvote.
  19. If you vote for someone not in the game, including myself, I will treat it as an unvote. This is not a bastard game; the mod cannot be lynched.
  20. Unvotes are allowed but not necessary. Posting any vote or unvote automatically removes your previous vote.

The Game

• 21. The objective of every faction is to be the only faction remaining, barring specific language saying otherwise in its role PMs.
  22. Lynches will occur once a majority is reached. If no majority is reached before deadline, the day ends in a plurality lynch, unless there is a tie, in which case it ends in a No Lynch.
  23. Voting for No Lynch is allowed. No Lynch requires 50% of the votes.
  24. Once the threshold for a lynch or No Lynch is reached, the result is final and we enter Twilight. No further votes will be counted. For the lynched player, this is their last chance to post a dying message.
  25. If no one is lynched and no role or factional kills are attempted for 3 complete Days, the onus will be placed on the living scum faction(s) to kill. If and only if they have no kills, the Town will be informed of this and will have to lynch.
  26. If a deadlock still cannot be resolved, I will take any means necessary to force it to end. This may include giving a scum faction an extra kill or randomly killing a Townie.

Deadlines and Activity

• 27. The first Day lasts 14 days; subsequent Days last 10 days. This may be adjusted at moderator discretion.
  28. Nights last a maximum of 48 hours.
  29. You are expected to post at least once every 48 hours. If you do not, you may be prodded and continue to receive prods every 24 hours after that. If you receive 4 prods during the game or 3 during a Day, you may be replaced.
  30. If you are going to be temporarily away or V/LA, please PM me.
  31. If you have a Night action and you might be V/LA during the Night, you may submit the action during the preceding Day, including actions contingent on the Day’s lynch.

Miscellany

• 32. Intentional suicide is not allowed if it has no possible benefit for your faction. Please request replacement if you no longer wish to participate in the game.
  33. Do not threaten to replace out of the game. If you need to be replaced, PM me.
  34. If a Night action is compulsive and no action is submitted, it will be performed on a random target.
  35. Alt-slips must be quoted using the account that is in this game.

Game-Specific Information and Role Interactions

• 37. This is a closed setup... for the most part. Some elements of the setup are public and listed below.
  38. There are two Jailkeepers in this setup. The first time they both target each other, they are both protected. The second and subsequent times, they are both roleblocked and not protected.
  39. The Mafia is the only groupscum faction in this game. There may or may not be additional scum or third-party factions.
  40. There are no bastard elements in this game; I will never deliberately lie to you outside the bounds of normal gameplay. All investigative roles are Sane unless they are explicitly told they have a chance to be non-Sane.
  41. There are no Cults, Survivors, Jesters, or Unjesters. The role you receive is the role and alignment you will have for the entire game unless your role PM specifically tells you otherwise.
  42. This game begins on Night 0. No killing actions may be taken on Night 0, but all other Night actions may take place.
