If I were scum I would have no killed today because I would believe you and think you were protecting him. If you were town you would have protected Chamber, so if you were scum you would have been forced to not kill Chamber, protecting Spangler does us no good and Spangler's life is actually negative because it introduces uncertainty.

Chamber, I do not know if I would have gone for such a high risk plan with conftowning Spangler, going for the free extra suspect seems like it would be more tempting but I don't know, I didn't think about what I would do as scum in advance and thinking now is biased by hindsight. Rainn's role is obviously fake, even if you are uncertain of whether or not they are capable of seeing the captain trap. I didn't see the captain trap until I typed out the possibility in my post. But my main argument is the obviously fake role.

I think with some minor tweaks it would have been less imposing for scum, mostly letting the captains choose their message target rather than having someone seem like a second IC from that.
