i think he means how two of the scum lynches were from guilties - the lynches from reads were on town. aelita was vigged in a way that was more mechanically sound than based on alisae's own reads, shiqf was basically rng to boot. dunn wasnt a contender for d3 lynch until the guilty (town was pushing mcmenno), i could have saved myself if not for bella dying.

though a part of jj's case on aelita was that she had a scum role (disagree on that since we didnt get fakeclaims but yeah) so i guess that counts?

this isnt to downplay town or to insinutae scum didnt suck but i do think town had a lot of power (which rc said was intentional to make the setup swingy)
i no longer strictly go by they/them and honestly prefer she/her but they/them's fine if you're used to it i guess

ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

dunn's d1 scumminess forced him to out and made him a better target for investigatives

you were too you were always situated in most people's null zones from my recollections.

i'm not offended at any "downplaying" but if the implication is that this was a townsided or broken setup, i vigorously oppose that assertion bc it very much was not.

i also think the mentality of "town prs actually helping town is cheap and takes away from 'scumhunting'." is bullshit and needs to die but i guess i'll hold off on that screed....

the setup was swingy not town or scumsided imo

we were basically a team of goons while town had multiple investigatives, technically masons, jj's redirector, and a doctor since they had active bonds going

we had power to counter it but it required momentum to get on our side - had I had my D1 bond with trans and gotten the mass neighborizer roleblocker to infiltrate the townbloc and get townread or if at the eleventh hour gotten the venegful mass roleblocker to make a jj kill guaranteed it'd be a completely different game (coincidentally the PRs I would have taken despite not knowing them :P ). the game went basically to whoever had bonds and since scum didnt play well the setup felt townsided, but it could have easily gone scumsided

also keep in mind i know jack shit about balance so maybe im talking out of my ass idk

depends on the prs i think

stuff thats easy to use well, like a full watcher or cop yeah since you cant really fuck up using them but you can misplay even a tracker or jk. even a hider or vig has downsides that keep the game interesting

I felt town played very well and were rewarded for it in terms of night actions and that's how the game should have gone, even if their reads weren't perfect.
2019 stats: Town WR 76.7%, overall WR 81.667%, 1 scum defeat involving a major mod error in lylo vs 8 scum wins.

I think a best new mechanic nomination might be in order.

It innovated the way mafia was played in a positive way. All the power roles were heavily influenced by the hoods created at night. Hoods in general are always fun to have. In this game, they were almost MANDATORY. Which provided a lot more one on one interactions.

Would anyone second this if I were to throw a nom?

that the town ev for 12v4 mountainous is ~7%

so if ur looking at the setup going "town have a lot of power" then... yeah that was to balance out an 80 point gap b/c of the insanely scumsided ratio

there's that too

anti I already said I think this setup is a bit scum sided

the bottom line is, town controlled all the power strictly because scums play was too poor to get into the active bonds we needed to. none of us besides aelita played well (idc what people say playing to your meta is perfectly valid), and yet we still almost won. we simply let town walk on us. transcend idling n1 screwed us a bit and me dropping the game screwed us a bit (giga was also apathetic).

as for town criticism, can someone explain why the fuck vecna was lynched? he was obv town as shit lmao

The main reason I wanted to lynch shitfuck d1 was your behaviour though. Id call that proper scumhunting (as one of the few things I got right this game)
