FWIW, I think that in a generically straightforward process, where townies are acting optimally at night and can work to confirm their roles and enforce accountability for night actions, town was always capable of a steamroll.

The scum power was substantially designed to counter all that, and in particular punish townies who claimed much of anything.

Vanillaizer - this one was fairly obvious. This role REALLY needed to live a while, both to actively vanillaize PTs (who were the key power roles for the most part) and so that its flip didn't townfirm its targets. I was actually nervous that this role in particular was TOO strong, since if scum can ID the PTs early on it's nearly a turkey shoot on vanillaizing them
Godfather/Asceticizer/Reflector - asceticizer was super powerful, in terms of heavily nerfing Akira's cop, heavily nerfing town's ability to enforce any kind of night actions accountability, turning every target macho (nerfing all the docs), etc. Reflector was generically decent but also super strong against an early vig claim

The other scum roles were helpful too (shido was there as a protection against the super powerful dreaming god abilities, i.e. I wanted to make sure that those abilities would be EARNED if ever they were to be relevant), but those two roles had massive potential to do incredible damage. The fact that instead they were unable to do anything at night to shut down town's power made it mechanically a brutally difficult game for scum to win.

True. And that's also in general a proscum thing, since scum have the ability to figure out who they want/need to deep wolf.

What's funny is that CIA and Creature were pretty blatantly town via just generic VCA via the fact that they were the only ones on the OTHER scum (PP) on day 2 in a critical situation. Scum are pretty much always going to end up bussing or trying to save mulch there; very very very few scum would be on a DIFFERENT scum in that situation, given how brutally difficult it would be to extricate themselves from that bus on day 3 OR to move forward in the game down Penguin in addition to the other scum bodies.

the way I'm reading the game everyone is kinda towny. I wanna kill eli and smocaine just on how they're confirming each other town but it's tinfoily and very very likely wrong, especially as eli was deadset on two flipped scum early on. I think RN and ramcius attacking PN vibes towny, and both have good reasons to be on a townpile anyway. I also don't think scum is pushing PN that hard this gameday as PN is at least a neg utility role. PN itself isn't a slot I'm necessarily reading towny, but mastina was and as many people mentioned already, this is a bonkers claim to make when you're scum so it's hardly ever the case. I don't think mastina throws the game like that as scum, she seems enough like a proud player to do any of that.

maki is conftown from my standpoint. idk the specifics on wheeler and what makes him so likely town, but at least his n1 roleblocked is checked by smocaine, so if smocaine is town wheeler has to be town. I forgot why brian skies is town, but I think phantom thief universal backup that didn't inherit the scum flipped PT is good enough...

the one slot I'm mildly suspicious on and could see myself voting eventually is chara. I think chara is relatively towny but going through the motions and I'm not very satisfied with using the track on brian skies.

so those are reads.
I'll pat myself in the back for solving the game (until I started wolfreading mathblade)

i definitely don't think i'm not at fault here as well, i'm not trying to place all of the blame on you for our threadstruction. i was well aware while i was posting i could've just ignored you since nobody besides ram was going to vote me, or i could've replied in a nicer way. i've been in a bad mood in my personal life and didn't feel bigger person-y, and that's on me. what mainly annoyed me is just how much you kept casing me and how many times i had to shut it down, and mastina being certain you were scum didn't help me want to reconsider. like, what it ended up feeling like to me was that there was absolutely nothing i could say to get you to change your mind after you started citing meta that didn't relate, so i was forced to scumread you with the alternative being you quickvoting me in lylo if we got to that point (transcend <3). like i said, i don't think you're a bad player, but it is better we don't play together for a while because i don't think anyone wants a repeat of our interactions here.
