Performer was infested terran Kerrigan with bullets; Keyser was infested terran Duran with bullets. Only The Worst had the zerg mauling kill. Except he shouldn't because that unit was just a giant gross brain!

that's pretty fair. Tbf what keyser claimed was more or less what we were informed wrt the witch; it was a faux traitor & we didn't know/parse that they could just..side with another unknown third party

Shoshin was probably better favoured by information than we were (which I kinda like in a roundabout way)

I do think that in many ways it was a super fun setup, and I loved the ridiculous flavors. I didn't think anyone was going to out-nerd me at Starcraft, but this was mostly Brood War era lore.

Trying to explain the flavor mechanics endlessly to people who really don't have any understanding of Starcraft, when it actually had a significant impact on the game, was rough though.

I just felt like every time something happened in the game, I was like HOW WAS I EVER SUPPOSED TO ANTICIPATE OR KNOW THAT

I mean, even when I found out there was a witch, I made a lot of assumptions about how the witch worked based on how it works elsewhere: the only reason I claimed is because I assumed that the witch knew exactly what my role was already on D3, because it's explicitly part of the mechanics described on mafiauniverse.

The setup makes it entirely possibly for town to win easily, but the number of killing roles/protectives/things we couldn't understand/kill power made it feel like a game of Hearthstone where there's so much RNG that I don't feel satisfied even if I win? But I'm the kind of player who LOVES the current newbie game setup with just enough to keep people guessing but enough mechanics to do logical evaluations of the game state on either side, while making raw reading skill matter a LOT. I think this was actually my very first almost-role-madness game, and I had no expectations of what it was when I joined.

i also thought it was a very fun setup and i did enjoy playing it! (most of my problems were really in the dead thread when i got spoiled; playign was a lot of fun)

i do agree that flavor was kinda important and i didn't realize that would be a thing when i signed up

also @tw my problems with the setup doesn't detract from the fact that i think you played an excellent game and that you utilized the opportunities given to you very very very well

i thought you played a ridiculously good game here, quite a lot better than what i did in jj's game. i basically prodged my way to winning that one (albeit doing a lot of work behind the scenes and pocketing the right people); i had like no in-thread presence

But yeah I agree, Shoshin's methods are A+, way better than mine, which is why I'm following Shoshin here.

Real talk, though, don't fucking tell me to check Shoshin's meta when it only has a single scumgame in the whole damn thing.

You were just starting to get towny.... the hammer was there, calling my name... you were good towards the end of that phase, though. I think your towngame is pretty formidable and if you'd found other people who were stressed by the gamestate the same way you were, things would've gone interestingly.

I think that Shoshin and theworst played solidly, but I wouldn't lick their boots and praise them as 'best 3p, best scum' or any shit like that
Town suicided and they managed to avoid suspicion. Literally anyone who wants to win a game as non-town needs to do that.

Anyway, I've obviously got a ton of misgivings about the design of this game and how it shook out.
I think the moderation was consistent and present, which was nice, although there were a few low quality moments, it was an overall well-moderated game.
Despite how much of a foul mood this put me in upon waking up and seeing it (I'm not much of a morning person, either), thanks for running the game, Krazy.
If I ever /in to another game of yours and it's multiball, even secretly, just PM me and I'll /out. I never want to play another multiball game again. I am deliberately not going to sign up for Starcraft 2 when that rolls around unless you can confirm it is not multiball.
