I'm up for a normal game. Though it looks like this thread has died. Oh well, anyone who reads this and is starting, let me know.

This is badly in need of an update, isn't it.

I will temporarily take over List Mod duties, as Cadmium seems to have disappeared. Expect an update (and LML, expect a PM/Mod powers as needed) in the next couple days.

If anyone is interested in becoming the Normal List Mod, let me know by PM.

Ok, the various lists are up to date. I still need to go through the waiting list, however; the increased mod requirements will mean new mods need to be moved to either the Open or Mini Normal queue.

Also, we are going to remove the hard 5 game limit; instead, signups will go more like the minis, and the number of games will depend more on demand (though unlike the minis, signups will still have their own thread, and there will likely be a "buffer" between the close of one signup and the beginning of the next).

LML and pj are up, STD is on deck.

You likely want the open game list, here. Due to their size, normal games sign up using seperate threads in the main Queue forum, not here in this thread, like the mini's.

I haven't heard anything from LML yet... if he doesn't turn up soon, I'll put him in limbo and move on to STD.

Ooops. Forgot to include my setup. I'm going to do biggest mafia ever, with at least 60 people, but as many as can sign up in lets say, 2 weeks. As there could be any number of people I don't have an exact setup yet. PM me if you need more mith.

Bad, bad, bad idea. The only way this will possibly work is if you're willing to accept/deal with the fact that close to 30 out of the 60 people playing will post less than once a week and will never submit night choices, no matter what sort of incentives you give for posting/submitting night choices.

Civil War was about this size, and the mod essentially abandoned the game out of frustration, exactly for the above reason. Moreover, currently any game of 30 players or more either has issues with finding replacements or has modkilled some people for inactivity.
I replaced into Chess Mafia for 6 months, and all I got was a win and this lousy sig.

Anyway, you can only run (/be on the list to run) one at a time until you've completed your first.

(Personally, I think that large of a game *could* be done, if it was done right. I'm not exactly optimistic about the chances of that happening in a game where the *goal* is to be the largest ever, though.)

Ok then. /out to mod. Again. When I am back /in though, I'd love to hear your thoughts on how to make it work just right.

I'll be going through the list this weekend (or Monday, if my internet isn't back up this weekend) checking to see who needs to be moved to a different list. And we'll probably have another signup get the go ahead at that point.

themanhimself: just look at how many games have needed replacements due to inactive players. And how many people post just enough not to get replaced. And how many people ask for replacements because they're frustrated with a slow game. I'm not saying it can't work, but you probably need to vet the signup list so you only include people who are active.
