Description:

A closed role madness setup where specific assumptions about the game of mafia may or may not be suspended. Things I can guarantee: Your Role PM will be completely accurate and isn't intended to mislead you. I will answer any questions directed to me by PM as fully as I am capable of doing so without giving you an unfair advantage. Mafia and town will both have standard win conditions, and there will be no other factions. Please note, only explicitly allowed communication is acceptable.

I guess I thought the defintion of bastard was that the mod lies to the players about stuff so trying to get where this not bastard but still lies area means.

Description:

A short, swingy Micro. (Who puts a Vigilante in a Micro?)

Deadlines will be initially short, but every player will have a one-shot deadline increase that they can use at any time in the game (i.e. this isn't intended as Blitz); this deadline increase is per-player, not per-slot, e.g. replacements can give themselves time to catch up if necessary.

I'm trying out a new experimental prodding mechanic this game; players will be reminded to post after just 24 hours of activity, with the length of time before replacement decreasing with each reminder. This shouldn't be treated with the same stigma as a regular prod; it's envisaged that even active players will get a couple of reminders over the course of the game.

The definition of bastard is longer than just "the mod will lie", but godfather is an example of an explicitly non bastard role involving mod lies. Other possible examples: cops who are told they are of questionable sanities, bus drivers, redirectors, millers, etc. There are also roles such as cults, jesters, (other bad roles), etc. where there is no moderator lying of any kind, but the game is still by definition bastard.

The only thing I can really confirm is that there might be some reason for the mod to lie to you, but over the course of the game it is entirely reasonable to expect the players to be able to differentiate these lies from the truth of the game state. The game is not designed around modfuckery, despite modfuckery being a possible unintended consequence, thus I'm being up front so that people pay attention and expect it. I can say it is explicitly non bastard (and in fact isn't far from normal) and EP described the setup as "spicy". More than that, I cannot confirm nor deny. Hopefully that helps, but if you're still curious you could always pre-in or PM for spectator access.
