The Second Fortnight

A large theme game that will last no more than 14 days.

First game: The Fortnight - Winners: Quilford, Oversoul, Kid A



Are you ready for a challenge that'll show off your true scum hunting skills? Look no further. Think you can add your name to the illustrious scum hunters who have completed this challenge? It's time to find out!

This game is difficult on EVERY player, but skill will prevail.

Game Description

Essentially, the premise is that town (14 players) has one shot to lynch one of two mafia lovers on Day 1. If they do, great. they win. If they don't, then everyone is suddenly in it for himself, and gets to select one person they think is scum. If that person is scum, that individual wins. The mafia, on the other hand, win only if no one selects them.

There are some nuances that you can read about, but that's the basic game. With it, you'll know that once the game starts, you'll be done within 14 days. No fuss, no muss.

Just to emphasize, this is a very difficult game to win.

Note: This game requires one completed game experience.

Note 2: This game requires consistent (if not strenuous) activity. It's only 14 days long. If you believe there is a chance of having to replace out, do NOT sign up.

Note 3: Please don't sign up for this game if you'll be V/LA for more than a day or two for its duration, especially if you'll be V/LA at the end of the game.

Note 4: No hydras or secret alts.

Game Specific Rules


Starting Setup and Day 1

  1. This game will last from the start of Day 1 to the end of the game, 14 days.
  2. The setup to start is 14 Town, 2 Mafia Lovers.
  3. Day 1 will work as normal. Majority lynches. If town lynches either of the mafia members, the town wins.



Post Day 1
  1. If town does not lynch a mafia member on Day 1, the mafia will via instant night select one of their members to
    Flee
    , thus removing from the game. This player cannot be accused.
  2. At this point, every Town member becomes a
    Third Party Independent Private Investigator
    and will win or lose for themselves.
    The lynched townie will still become a Private Investigator, but will NOT be allowed to talk in the thread.
    (New)

  3. At the end of 14 days from the start of the game, Independent PIs must have submitted via Google Form at least one accusation. The most recent accusation counts.
  4. After the 14 day deadline, the game ends and the accusations are tallied.
  5. If 9 players vote to end the game early, the game will end early. Players will have up to 48 hours but no more than 14 days after the game start to make an accusation. This will be the only vote count.
  6. A Private Investigator who receives more accusations than any other player will not make an accusation and will automatically lose. Any player who receives 5 or more accusations (before accusations under this rule are disregarded) against him will not make an accusation and will automatically lose.

  7. Both mafia players win if the remaining mafia member is not accused by any other player.
  8. A Private Investigator will win if he or she makes an accusation against the remaining mafia player.


Mafia Bribe
(NEW)

The remaining mafia member instead of submitting a accusation submits a bribe. If the mafia member bribes a Private Investigator who in turns accuses the mafia member AND there are no other accusations against the mafia member, the Private Investigator is bribed, causing a win for BOTH that Private Investigator AND the Mafia.

14 Day Deadline
  1. The game will be played in 14 days from when the game is started, including Day 1 and any chat after Day 1.
  2. Players will have 24 hours after the 14 day mark to make an accusation or up to 48 hours after the game is ended early (but not more than they would have had under the 14 day+24 hour scenario).
  3. At the end of the 14 days, the thread will be locked and no further posts may be made.
  4. This game is instant night. If the moderator takes more than 6 hours after the hammer to post the lynch scene, the deadline will be adjusted to increase it by however long the "twilight" period took.
  5. If Day 1 lasts 14 days, then it will deadline with a no lynch, moving immediately to the Post Day 1 phase, and will not allow players to chat with each other.


Sample Role PMs


TownieYou begin as a member of the
Town
. On Day 1, you may vote in order to lynch a player.

On Day 2, if your team did not lynch a Mafia Lover, you will change from a member of the town to a
Third Party Independent Private Investigator
. At the end of 14 days, if a mafia player was not lynched on Day 1, you may accuse one player that is alive.

Note:

If lynched, you retain the ability to make an accusation. However you may NOT post in the game.

You win IF:

1. Town lynches a mafia member Day 1.
2. You accuse the remaining mafia member. HOWEVER, if you receive the most accusations against you or receive 5 or more accusations against you, you will NOT make an accusation and you will automatically lose. A tie will not automatically make you lose or remove your accusation.


Mafia LoverYou are a
Mafia Lover
(______ and _______). You have day talk and can converse HERE, even after Day 1. You may also use site chat room _____________ to talk about the game if you wish.

If either you or your partner is lynched Day 1, both of you lose.
If neither you nor your partner is lynched Day 1, you must pick one of you to
flee
. You may do this by typing in bold in your Private Thread <b>Flee: PLAYERNAME</b>. This is instant night, so whenever the hammer is thrown, the player you have marked as fleeing will flee. By Default _________ will flee. You may change the fleeing player at any time and as many times as you want up to the Day 1 lynch.

The player who flees will be removed from the game except that he may still chat with you.

You win IF:

1. Neither you nor your partner are lynched Day 1 AND
2. Neither you nor your partner are accused by a
Third Party Independent Private Investigator
(note that the player accused most does not get to make an accusation).

Bribe

Your accusation is actually a bribe. If you bribe a player who in turn accuses you AND that was the only player who accused you, you will still win.

how'd you get the 14/16 number for town? also i think it's 1/13, not 1/14 for town (1 mafia flees, 1 town is cleared via lynch, 1 town is you)

Still, the point remains that it is not easy to win, and that's by design.
