Assassins in the Palace signups 14/14

Assassins in the Palace

Mod: Kelly Chen
Experience: Mafia 45, 49; Mini 300, 330, 368, 392, 440
Backup Mod: Quagmire
Players: 14

See Marathon 14: Assassin in the Palace for a six-player version of this. I highly recommend skimming it (it's short) before signing up. You might not like it. Maybe no one will like it.

Setup:
2 kings: they receive no information.
10 guards: all of these know who the kings are.
2 assassins: they know each other.

The kings and guards are on the same side. Their goal is to kill both assassins, and have at least one king survive the game.

The assassins' goal is to kill both kings. It's a suicide mission.

There are no nights. The town lynches someone every day. If they lynch an assassin, that assassin will get to make a kill with his dying breath. The thread will be closed so the assassins can discuss who might be a king. (It is not allowed to kill no one and save the kill for one's partner to determine later.)

An assassin who believes he knows who a king is may post
suicide attack: (player)
, killing that person and himself. (This is to prevent a scenario where the town knows their king is outed and then refuses to lynch anyone.)

Exception: If both kings are still alive but only one assassin is still alive, a suicide attack (of either type) must target two people.

Three-week autodeadlines (most votes at deadline lynched).

I can only take experienced/proven players for this due to the ease with which any player could ruin the whole game.
If I don't know who you are, you can help me out by listing a Mafiascum game or two that you were in and didn't suck in. You could also pledge that you won't carelessly out the kings. That shows you're at least reading what you're trying to sign up for.

Let's hope this is a fun experiment.

The possibly viable strategy of fake-outing kings is greatly frowned upon.

This probably deserves its own post.

What I mean is, are there any rules on

-outing of kings, which seems like a good, legitimate tactic to me?
I'm not sure I understand what your concern is, but here's the issue. If you were scum in a standard game of mafia, it might be viable tactic to post something like this once you've gotten run up:
scum going down wrote:Screw all you guys, I'm scum with spork and Lloyd
When you're actually
not
scum with those guys. This might get your side a free townie death the next day (that is if the mod didn't declare the game spoiled).

A scum who did that in one of my games would find themselves banned from my games in the future.

In the same way I don't want to see town hysterics like:
town going down wrote:You know what, screw this town. [posts falsified role pm showing that the kings are Max and viper]
This following is not banned but I find it very stupid; if you had a history of doing it in other games it would probably be enough to get you disallowed from signing up for this game:
The kings are Max and viper lol jk.
I also fully approve of using your words and actions to try to mislead the scum into thinking the kings are someone other than they are.

Basically don't pretend you're ruining the game.

I hope that's helpful. I'll try and work this into the rules when the thread is up.

No they don't.

That is a last-minute judgment call, but I think it may be interesting to see how the town handles it if one of the kings votes the other.

If you want to make a case as to why someone is a potential hazard to the game then PM it to me and it'll save me a little time. I've delayed updating the signup list for a reason...

In response to Jack, yes, fake suicide kills are disallowed. The main reason is that it is in effect claiming scum. Another reason is that I'd rather not have people metagaming others' responses to an apparent suicide kill.

Thread's up: in Theme Park

Everyone should have received a role. (The mass PM feature kept bombing on me, but I believe everyone got a role in the end.)
