I think you have to mod a normal or open before you're allowed to moderate a newbie game

keyen have you checked which mods have /inned before you and if they got a game yet? i know the queue usually moves very slowly so it's possible mina just hasn't gotten to you yet

She has been pretty busy. She made a post a few pages back asking for a little patience. It's awesome you are wanting to mod newbie games. If I can help you, please drop me a line.

If key's first modded game had problems, that may be why he didn't get approved here. Newbie game mod reqs specifically state

Must have a good overall record of moderation; first-time Newbie Game moderators are required to have a back-up moderator

If either of those requirements are not met, that would explain not getting assigned a game. Or it could just be that, just as with new IC's, new mods are taking a while to get approved.
