Machina: the Machines of Creation

In the beginning, there was chaos

Each Day Phase will be 9 days, and each Night Phase will be 2 days.
Players who fail to post for 4 RL will be warned, and then force-replaced. There are no other activity requirements.
This game is based off of original flavor. There is a Smashing Pumpkins album with a similar name and probably some others, but they're unrelated. Images will be borrowed from various sources.
Hydras are allowed.
This queue will be run with Wisdom of the Mod, though by default it's unlikely I'll prevent anyone with appropriate experience from joining. If you think there is a player who will be problematic, let me know and I may have that player removed.
Absolutely no bastard elements, nor any elements that could be vaguely considered bastard, will be present.
Roles and alignment will be independent (with one, publicly known, exception)

I'm glad you asked! I've been looking for a block of time to make a nice pretty advert, but here's a tl;dr for now.

Flavor will only exist in the role PMs, day-start, and day-end text. It's original flavor, and thus there's no prior knowledge that's relevant.

In brief, the theme is that in the beginning, there existed only a primordial chaos. The Originator created Machina, specialized to various functions, to form order from the chaos. Some subset of them have malfunctioned, however, and seek to prevent the Genesis of order in the universe.

In terms of game mechanics, there will be three role archetypes (publicly known):

Receivers

target a player and receive results/effects from them if they are one of the other two types.

Sensors

have various subtypes and target a player to learn something about them. They don't receive their own result, they need to be targeted by a receiver.

Emitters

passively emit a result or effect that is received by receivers who visit them.

There will also exist a special role (publicly revealed at game-start).

Visually, the creatures are only machines in an abstract sense. Here's what the special role's PM pic will look like:
