Mod can pick alignment.

Each night you can visit a player to give them one of these benefits. You can give each one out only once:
Menacing: The next time you are targeted by exactly 1 night action in a night it is blocked
First Striking: The next time you perform a night action it is resolved as being the first thing to happen that night.
Deathtouching: The next time you would kill someone, it cannot be prevented
Vigilant: You are multitasking. People who share your alignment and can give other people night actions are told you are a good target when you receive this invention.

You can perform more than one action each night. You may not perform the factional kill unless no other player remains to do so.

You can visit a player to learn what their role is, but not their alignment.

You can visit a player to ensure that all players who would get an investigative result on your target get an incorrect result. "No result" results are still applied correctly.

For results that have more than one way to be incorrect, use the result that feels most fair/neutral to you, and answer truthfully about what the incorrect result in a situation would be should anyone ask

While you are alive, if the masonry only contains you and it is an even night, the town aligned player the mod considers to have the least mechanically beneficial to town role will join your masonry at the end of the night. Their role will gain X-Night Mason in addition to it's other features, for purposes of investigation.

Following your death by any means, including elimination, it will appear to fail and you will remain alive for one more day/night cycle, after which you will die and the game will be informed that you were in fact never alive.

Because you are a) a parrot and b) dead, you never count towards calculating if an endgame situation has been reached. In addition to their normal result, any successful investigation will be informed that you "have beautiful plumage"

A member of the town chosen by the mod has an additional wincon of needing people not to realise you are dead (i.e. they have one more day/night cycle after your apparent failed death to win the game). They know your identity.

You win with the town.

Each night you can visit a player. If an action that player is taking or passive ability of that player would cause a town losing endgame, prevent all actions and neutralise all passive abilities of that player for the night, even if they could not normally be prevented/neutralised. This ability cannot be prevented. If you do not meet the conditions for your ability to prevent something, your role and alignment is revealed to the town in the next morning.

Mizzy's Blood on the Grandfather Idea Clock project


I'm converting roles from Blood on the Clocktower to Grand Idea. As part of this I am defining terms from Blood on the Clocktower I will sometimes use here. This post may be edited but only to add new terms to the glossary.


Moderator Agency:
One of the main distinctions from Blood on the Clocktower to a lot of social deduction games is the moderator has agency. The goal of the moderator when making a decision is to try and get the game to a final 3 situation. When a role gives the moderator a choice this is the principle the should use.

Townsfolk
:
A town aligned player whose ability is primarily helpful for town or who has no ability. When an ability that cares about Townsfolk is in the game, the moderator determines whether a role not from this project is a townsfolk or not.

Outsider
:
A town aligned player whose ability is primarily negative for town. When an ability that cares about Outsiders is in the game, the moderator determines whether a role not from this project is an Outsider or not.

Minions
and
the Demon
:
In Blood on the Clocktower the goal of the good team is to kill the Demon. The Demon is the only evil player that can night kill and the Minions are the other evil players. For the purposes of this project they are aligned with the Mafia. There can only be one Demon and if something creates another Demon the original one should die. When an ability cares about Minions or the Demon is in the game, but there isn't a Demon role in the Mafia, the moderator should pick one Mafia member to be the Demon and the rest are Minions. If you do this the Demon should be multitasking with any other abilities they have and everyone should be aware of the change of win condition vs this faction.

Poisoned and Drunk:
If a player is made Poisoned or Drunk they should be treated as if they are completely roleblocked, including passive abilities. However they do not know they are poisoned or drunk and should be allowed to make choices and gain information from their ability as if it was working. If they gain information while poisoned or drunk the Moderator has agency to tell them whatever they think is best to achieve the goal defined in Moderator Agency.

Madness:
A player is mad about something if they are trying to convince other players it is true. A player will be mad about a number of things throughout the game whether or not it is mechanically relevant. Some abilities require players to be mad about something. Whether or not they succeed is a subjective decision by the moderator.

Registering:
When a player registers as something, it means that the moderator treats them as being what they register as for the purpose of other players abilities. This is often optional, allowing the moderator to use agency to have that player register as a different thing at different times in aid of their goal as defined under moderator agency.

Table Position and Neighbors:
Some of these roles care about table position and neighbors. For the purposes of this treat the player list at the start of the game as a circle, with the top player adjacent to the bottom. Some care about specific types of neighbors. For example, a role that cares about Townsfolk neighbors cares about the nearest Townsfolk on each side of the role in question, ignoring non-Townsfolk in between.

Each night you choose two players to kill. Each night, one dead player you killed on the previous night might come back to life. You can target dead players with your kills with the hope that they come back next night.

(Blood on the Clocktower does not have death reveals, the Shabaloth will have a different dynamic in a Grand Idea game where people will know who the players who come back to life are. The players who come back are up to moderator agency.)

Then this is repeated with the second and third player. All players who choose die, die. If all players live (whether they chose it or survive through another ability), then all three die (unless protected). You can choose dead players - they can come back to life by choosing live.

Each night you may change a player's role to another role from Grand Idea Mafia. If that role is already in the game nothing happens. They retain their alignment. If you use this ability to create another Demon, the Demon does not choose who to kill, but instead kills an arbitrary number of people chosen by the moderator.

Arbitrary kills means you choose who as well as how many, the Demon has no input. In Blood on the Clocktower when the Pit-Hag creates a new Demon the storyteller usually kills zero or two people to signify that the change has occurred. This is less important in Grand Idea mafia where it is being drawn from tens of thousands of roles, and not a semi open format of 25 roles or so. However, if they do create a new demon you should probably kill the old one. as part of the arbitrary deaths.

At setup the person who drew this card should instead get another
Minion
card.

Each night (and pre-game if there is no night 0), all Minions (living or dead) get to choose a player to be holding Lil' Monsta. That player does not have to be aligned with the mafia, and is informed that they are holding Lil' Monsta. They are the Demon while they hold Lil' Monsta, but they don't choose the kills.

The moderator may kill a player each night, and must kill a player if otherwise no one would die that night. This kill counts as being performed by the player holding Lil' Monsta for the purposes of investigation.

The choice of night kill is moderator agency, and in particular should be trying to sell the world that the Mafia team are choosing the kills, not the moderator

At the beginning of the game, and at night if your host has died, choose a non Alien player to become your host. Former hosts killed by something other than Alien kills (factional, or role based) are parasitised. Dead parasitised players count for the Aliens when determining an endgame voting situation, even if you are dead.

Each night choose up to 3 players. Assign each of them to a different one of your three cats (mod: feel free to have fun naming/finding images for the kitties)

Each day you will be in a cat cafe pt with those 3 players for that day only. At the end of that day you will learn whether or not each cat got on with their visitor. One cat gets on with everyone, one cat gets on with no one and one only gets on with town-aligned and benign third party players, but you don't know which cat is which.

mod: In blood on the clocktower you tend to be playing on a semi open setup of about 25 roles. Players will gossip whether or not they are that role to cover up who is the gossip from the evil team. You might want to confirm that the gossip is in the game to result in this behaviour, but you are not obligated to by this role.
