i'm a bit confused on what the point of this rule is, since i can't recall any issues related to it in recent times. i'd understand if there was approval needed from the person whose name was being used as flavour. why listmod approval + review?
does this mean that any games that use player names in the "story" of the game can't do that anymore, since that text can't really be written pregame? or will we have to have a listmod on standby to review the text before flips etc. are posted?
Yeah I wonder about this myself. I’ve ran a few games where player names were used in the write-ups for inconsequential flavor elements. Would that still be allowed if ran by a listmod? I’ll link this game as a demonstration of what I’m talking about.

If there’s a case where a read that’s claimed to be gut or some other vague reason *seems* to be an ongoing game read, will mod action ever be taken? This is my biggest concern here, is that site-wide meta shifts will punish players playing legitimately because of players going through a gray area.

I feel like that’s not really true. My homesite doesn’t really allow arguments along the line of “this person has been online but hasn’t posted in-game” because it creates pressure that isn’t appreciated. Is it that big of a deal if that kind of argument gets restricted here? My one concern is limiting ability to handle players coasting activity-wise but I feel like there’s other venues to remedy that.

The Mini Theme queue has a slot in the mod form for requests for deviations from the site’s standard rules, I would guess if modkills were a part of a setup (such as a punishment for breaking a post restriction) they could be allowed through that
