Ooo...I like the calvinball idea. It would be tricky to implement, though, and still have it be

a) Sensible
b) Fun
c) Mafia.

Otherwise it would degrade into Mornington Crescent (fun but a little stupid).

Mmmmmm...Calvin Ball.

I would be so up for a Calvin and Hobbes game. You'd have to work in the cardboard box inventions too though.

Anyway, I'm glad there'll be no hard feelings if I go and set up a Homestar Mafia because I sat down last night and was inspired; I already have a 12 role setup, and have only to write the actual PMs.

Okay, fine. My e-mail idea can wait a bit, but if anyone really really wants to run it and wants to see my ideas (I've got a few role possibilities), I'd be happy to step aside.

Norinel -- please wait a few slots before putting yourself on the theme list. I can't imagine not signing up for either HSR game. If they run at the same time, it will be impossible!

Why couldn't Calvin & Hobbes be mafia? Since no one agrees or likes them. Or it could be like three different Calvins. Regular Calvin, Spaceman Spiff, and maybe some duplicates if you wanted a big game. Hobbes doesn't necesarilly have to be on Calvin's side since he doesn't agree with Calvin about girls and stuff like that. Just some thoughts.

On HSR: Yeah, I plan to wait a bit, at least until my ideas have solidified a bit.

On Calvin: Remember the strip where he time travels around the space of a few hours to get out of writing a story? Maybe you could do something like that to justify the bunches of versions.

Well there's that series of strips where he replicates himself several times for homework/chores/etc. That might be hilarious to make townspeople out of the extra Calvins -- then the original Calvin could be an SK bent on getting rid of the duplicates!

Calvin mafia has so much fun potential its unbelievable

You could include characters, alter ego's, objects

Spaceman Spiff the vigilante
Tracer Bullet the cop
Stupendous man the uhm...
Mom the role blocker
Little suzie and her dolls, or just girls in general as the mafia, perhaps a godfather role for rosalyn?
Calvin holding a transmogrifier( some sort of inventing role, or disguise?)
Calvins food (some sort of attacking role)
Moe, miss wormwood, some sort of (evil) school group?
Dad, some sort of character-building ability?
Uncle Max, regular townie
Past, Present, Future calvin, a small mason group of three, with the only exception that when past calvin dies, the present and future will fade away. and when present calvin dies, only the future version of himself will die as well
Snow goons, martians, dinosaurs, monsters under the bed,
Possibilities are endless, i wouldn't miss it for the world :D

*edited* hm... calvinball.
Maybe a one time role for a player, when used all current night abilities will get switched around at random, (maybe even add a few abilities, just for the fun of it), the cops target will get protected, the mafia's target investigated, the docs target gets a one use item. While not exactly a useful role, it can be chaotic as hell, and isnt that really what calvinball is about?

Do the Calvin Clones as the townspeople. They got along with Calvin in the strips.

And mlaker when you do it you'll have to plug in as attachments or html links comic strips to get us in the right mood ;).

I wouldn't miss it for the world.

You could start it off with just calvin and the clones.
Then maybe when it catches on you could introduce more roles.
I think we could already start it with more roles, there already is a pretty large amount of people who'd be interested.

Just like to "book" Shakespeare mafia as a theme. Not sure if anyone would be really interested but...
...whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.

Family Guy, Trigun and Strongbad Emails all look really cool, but Calvin and Hobbes is where I'd be at. The ideas for bad guys would be pretty much endless, and it'd be interesting to include the wagon rides somehow. Possibly as a way to get to the truth of some matters?

I'm interested in doing a Star Trek: TOS mini theme at some point, probably with a tounge-firmly-in-cheek style. I'd call it something along the lines of "The Red Shirt of Courage".

I mentioned running a Red Dwarf game, if anyone knows of it...

And Calvinball - everyone posts a rule once a day, you can't repeat a rule, and everyone has to follow every rule. :)

I'd love to play in improbable roles II, and possibly chaos if it has anything to do with Quantum (That is what the link says). What is Mixed Theme about and is it much the same as improbable roles?

Personally, I think "Family Guy" Mafia would be absolutely hysterical... South Park is good too, but FG is way better. And hold me a spot when Homestar Runner comes up...

I rather see this page for the Family Guy link, it's better and it has more information, like a character guide.

I like that Calvinball idea Werebear! The C&H mafia might not start for a while since I am ready to run a normal mini but there is huge line and nobody seems interested in normal minis at this time.

I have an idea for Harry Potter mafia if you want to keep people guessing... :)

I have another game in the works, but the show I intend to base it on is only half-way through (in Australia - I assume it hasn't gone overseas yet ;), so I'll concentrate more on it after it's over.
