Disagree with this, as a rule. I am probably much more forceful as scum in Skype Mafia/F2F it's about the same. More of a personality tell (some people are more confrontational and I don't think that has a big impact on alignment tbh)

But yeah, visual clues > chat log, by far. Seriously scumhunting is much easier in F2F, or at least it is for me.

Depends more on personality. Some people can scum-hunt better by reading body-language/facial cues/voice inflections/etc...

Other people like to analyze text.

Ridiculously low number of mafiosi, 1 doc, 1 cop. It worked for us. That's how I first knew the game and when I knew about online mafia it blew my mind.

No. F2f needs more mafiosi if anything.

Not really. But then I tend to play with inexperienced groups of players where 3 scum can decimate 12 town with a Cop and a Doc.
Retired as of October 2014.

Well, I ran a game that was about 4:14, the single PR (a cop) was killed N1, and the scum still had their asses handed to them on a silver platter.

It depends a lot on the experience level of your players. With first-time players, you'll need a hilariously town-sided setup if you want the town to have any chance at all, typically. After a few games, though, a balanced face-to-face setup looks scum-sided compared to ones that we'd use here.

The town was actually below average. The mafia were terrible. They didn't even
try
to get townies lynched, their only good shot was a purely lucky one, and one of them spoke out loud during the night. The last scum might have had a chance, but a Townie fakeclaimed cop with a guilty. Yes, even though the real cop had been lynched.

Another game I ran went pretty well - a few people with some idea how to play got the scum cards.

In the last game, a bunch of townies decided that they would be the mafia instead. :?

Make sure you cant follow the cop. Everyone always puts a doctor and a cop in the same game together with no counters. It is ridiculous.
