Now I've modded a few more games, I think I can try this one again, but maybe other people have some ideas for a Russian themed game. (I remember DP saying that he was thinking of giving Mafia 24 such a flavour at one stage).Time-Travelling MafiaYes, it's completely rediculous, but if we can think of a way to get rid of some problems in gameplay, it should work. This variant involves the mafia and other characters being able to travel through time. Changing things the past can affect future events. I intend to make a separate thread about this game if I can get to work reasonably well in theory...

mith and I have discussed the possibility of HHGTTG and Monty Python themed games... I have a small (themed) GL game coming up, which I'm co-moderating with mith and which we designed between us. if it goes well, I'd quite like to try a Python one (sort of a Holy Grail type theme)...

Romeo and Juliet would be interesting roles. ;We could have two Mafia families named the Montagues and Capulets. ;Romeo and Juliet would know each other's identities, but if one died, the other would immediately commit suicide.

but that would give the Romeo and Juliet players an almost impossible winning condition. they'd have to kill off everyone in both their families except themselves, plus the townies (if they didn't have to kill the townies they'd be effectively townie spies inside the mafia, which would be devastating to the game).

No, no, Romeo and Juliet would have the same win conditions as their families. ;They'd probably end up trying to bait each other to die first and in a way that reveals the other family.

I have an idea for a GL themed mafia game. where the players play members of the GL. should be fun i dont thiink its gonna happen anytime soon. particularly since im not signed up anywhere..

what's wrong with being the only survivior of your family as long as you're then happy enough to let everybody else still alive live peacefully ever after? Would that lead to one-for-one night and without any lynchings?
