I'm modding my first game atm. I decide what to do on a case by case basis. I only set a deadline if choices are sluggish coming through. If someone misses their choice, I decide between no action, a random one or similar, based on what I feel is best for the game overall.

If someone misses a deadline twice during my game, I boot them and seek a replacement. Hopefully I never have to resort to that, but I will to prove a point.

I don't set deadlines often. Especially night deadlines... I like to give the mafia time to talk. I trust they'll get their choice in when they're ready. Of course, I start prodding after a few days.

Oh, and I don't do day deadlines often either. Only when the game hits the proverbial wall.

I would like to do a game based on incompetent modding at some point. Would this be normal or themed?

Just noticed that I'm also at the top of the normal modding list. Yay.
...whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.

That sounds intriguing, and I would assume themed unless the variation in game play is very minor.

It would be fun to constantly get wrong post counts and wrong night results.

Ooh, that could be interesting, and saying the number to lynch is like 7 if it is actually 5 and then having the player killed at 5 just to screw with the town.
Bwahaha.

Hehe. You could make it a game mechanic to reveal the mafia's buddies when the first one dies, and have to reassign roles... of course, phasing some out and slipping a few new ones in at that point or something evil ;)

I think if you want constantly messed up post counts you'll have to take it up with Jeep.

Anyway, since it will have to be themed I'm going to drop the idea for now. (some of you seem like you could go far with the idea...)

Heh, sorry - that wasn't meant to be quite the backhanded swipe it came across as :? I was just trying to think of ways to turn honest mod errors into game mechanics and that was the one that sprung to mind first ;)
