Game Mods flake, or co-mods need access, or...
Isn't this solved if one were to give PT access to their backup/co-mods prior to the start of the game?
My understanding is that the co-mod can't receive access to add others without listmod or higher intervention.

It actually takes higher than listmod level. There's like... two or three people on the entire site that can do it, and it's not very "clean" regardless.

. They may also be used for reviewing games. To gain access for review, PM the listmod of the queue for the game you wish to design. You will be given permission at this time.
3.
No Discussion Topics

be used for general discussion topics unless explicit permission is given to make one.
4.
Mish Mash
. Moderators of Mish Mash games who would benefit from the use of Private Topics should PM Xalxe for permission to create them. Permission will be granted on a case-by-case basis, depending on their intended function. Generally, they should only be used for topics which require multiple users to have access, not one-on-one discussions.
5.
Use is Not Mandatory
. Moderators may continue to use QTs if they wish.

Conduct in Private Topics will be held to the same standard as other MS topics. If asked, the moderator of a private topic MUST give access to the topic to listmods and discussion moderators.

So I have a question here, as I think I may have unintentionally broken the rules.

#1 says " moderators of approved games (i.e. those that have gone through one of the mafia queues)"

Because they're so much more convenient, I've used PTs for the Mafia chat of 2 games I've modded during the current Marathon weekend. (I am an active Newbie mod, which is why I have access to create PTs)

Is this okay or not?

The games in question were runs of the 13 player setup I submitted for the Open/Semi-Open Design Challenge, which was the whole reason we're having a marathon weekend in the first place.
I plan to do a 3rd run tomorrow.

A very good point. I have no problem with private topics being created for marathon games as that's clearly in the spirit of the rule even if it's not obviously by the letter. I have edited the OP to reflect that it is allowed.

My only concern is that right now mods gain privileges to create private threads through the system that also allows you to create a thread in one of the main mafia forums.

Short Answer: At least until you hear otherwise, feel free to create Private Threads for this purpose.

I would like to create a Private Thread for personal use. Specifically, I would like to be able to post my different rulesets, test out Role PMs, etc. It would not be for any specific game.

Is this permitted? I have often found myself wanting to just copy and paste from my previous games, but sometimes they close before I can, and it would be nice to prep not only content but also formatting beforehand, which is not really otherwise possible to my knowledge without saving drafts of PMs or something.

Is this permitted?

So it's possible to save rulesets in a private topic so it's easier to copy them into a game as it's being set, especially for those like me limited to a phone, as well as role PMs?

If that is correct, then it would help ALOT with pregame stuff, and if possible, please set me up?

You could set them up as draft topics. (or possibly just posts, that function already exists for everyone anyway)

I would like an answer from a listmod before I consider other options.

Sure. i'm testing something out. i've given you permissions for 5 days. i think after that point you'll still have total access to your thread even though you're not a large listmod.

why did the private discussion forms turn purple all of a sudden? The dead qt I am in is now purple and makes it harder to read for me

it's far prettier and easier on the eyes generally, but i agree that it could be touched up a bit lighter or something for readability.

sure it's easier on the eyes than the green I guess

My Mr. Rogers account and my Poker Face account have different board themes as a means of helping me keep them separated

I recently learned the private topics are purple in sepia theme while making some recent mod threads

I like the purple more than the green and people with green names may want to switch to it should they feel it makes their name show up better there. Reading green on purple is not something I like but you may like it

They were all changed recently to purple, if you're still seeing green anywhere, you can hard refresh to make it purple.

All of them were?

I see the purple while using this account and the green with pokerface. Thats some weird net history there

Maf black has white writing for all names in PT and main. Reading white on purple way easier than reading green on purple. The green on purple looks almost as bad as green on green. Its visible on the purple but hard to read

Yes they all were. Try hard refreshing (ctrl f5 in most browsers). This is a first draft, I understand it has some readability issues on certain skins, working through them when I have time.

Yay they are all purple now

I much prefer the purple to the green so keep up the good work

purple is much better, really the problem now is that it blens with user names quite well XD

what about a deep redish?

I agree; purple is much better than the green. I found the green a bit ugly & distracting.
