Open-Setup Wiki Overhaul!!!

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Fri Oct 17, 2014 1:03 am

To do list
  • Create sub categories for all game types.

  • Sort all setups into correct category.

  • Update all setups with open game results. Finished upto: Open 472
  • Get a list of all approved setups and sort out all approved setups.
  • Fix and edit all setups to be readable.
  • Update win statistics.

Spoiler: Original Post
The Open Setup category is currently a mess. I'm going to try and order all the unused and never tested setups into a correct sub category as currently they are mostly just dumped into "Category:Open Setups" and it's hard to find anything. There are categories for new/untested setups however nobody is using them.
I have got one question however, would it be fine if I remove all the setups from the main Open Setup category and sort all 170+ setups into a correct sub-category?
This would make it all a lot more organised and accessible for new user.

(Basically I want to remove the [[Category:Open Setups]] tag from all setups and organise them all into a fitting sub category. The links to all sub categories would of cause be on the Open Setup main page.)

That's fine (it also makes the new ones easier to sort later).

How many experiments of playing a setup are needed to move it elsewhere? I'm thinking of a few micro sized ones that are unlikely to enter the open queue proper as it's much quicker to go though the micro queue.

There are probably also some approved ones that also have no actually been in the open queue stone micro games came into being.

Cheery Dog I could literally make a wiki page for "Poopsmith: Checks a player for poop each night" and it'd probably be on there forever

We can do whatever we want

I'm just reading the text on that page
This is a list of Open Setups that are well-known enough to not fade into the obscurity of the Historical category, but not deemed fit to run regularly in the Open queue. Experienced moderators are still allowed to run these in the Open queue, but these will not be assigned to new moderators.

Other than marathons I don't think any of the 4 setups on that page have been played since I've been on this site. (B&S did almost go into the micro queue once though I think it left before entering signups though)

I'm tempted to move it to Open setups just to see if there really is no maintenance of the page.
