I've added them to the page you linked to as an example.

- organize the articles in a clear manner
this will make things easier to find and browse through, and will make obvious what articles are missing or could be added

- standardize article features
right now when an article link is clicked, even if the article has a lot of content, you can't really expect anything about the sort of information will be present, how it'll be organized, or how well-connected by links it'll be to other articles, etc.
developing or sharpening and then implementing standards for various sorts of articles (eg setups, roles) will markedly improve the wiki

if you do both of these then everything left to do is creative
actually producing articles that fill informational holes in the wiki
i believe more of an emphasis should be placed on connecting/basing articles on "researched forum history" or something than on the writer's intuition, but meh
I've finished sorting all articles and have updated that area to link to all the new sub-categories. I also managed to miraculously fix the easy menu css so that's been added to all updated sections now. I'm going to tackle Theory later.
In post 120, Psyche wrote:Also, here's an idea.

There are apparently stable templates around of someone of the best Scummer wikis around (like UN's). If you made some page working as a guide to making your own wiki (which there is a lot of general interest in doing) which points to one of those templates, the world would be a clearly better place.
I'm looking into some templates and I'll create some easy to use ones with a single page explaining them all.

I've started the guide that someone requested:
http://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?tit ... r%27s_page
So far I've explained how to add tabs, navbox/bars, some usefull scummer page templates and those boxes UberNinja's page uses. Game boxes and stat boxes coming later.
What else do you want?

Check the discussion page, I added some stuff for the planned section.

So I went ahead and made my wiki page the most hideous thing on earth to show what I'm working on:
http://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=Wgeurts
Yup, that's right: I'm making it possible for users to change the standard wiki css per page. Once I'm done I hope to have made it possible to change everything from the background of a page to the navigation bar colors. I'm also looking to see wether mediawiki has Jquery, if so I could go ahead and add gradients and image backgrounds.

Yes : http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/JQuery

By the way, are we able to edit templates ? I am thinking about creating a template for users to archive their games.

You can make templates by just calling the page "Template:-Name-".
Hehe, with jquery stuff will now get interesting.

I've made the code a lot simpler and a lot easier to build on, I can now allow changing of backgrounds to the color of links when hovered upon. First the second wasn't doable due to the code inserting inline CSS to the edited elements, now it inserts a single css chunk into the head of the html document allowing more flexibility. The first template for changing the main page body's background and colors will be up soon.
Oh, it allows gradients so you could technically make your scummer page rainbow colored.

Made this for Nero Cain as he requested it but I'm also using it as an example for what I'm still working on:
http://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?tit ... in_Is_King
Please prepare your eyes. If you look at the page source you'll see a template that allowed me to change the page's look and backgrounds. I'm currently finishing this template as the code is already there.

I'VE FINALLY FINISHED IT:
http://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=Template:CSS
With this template everybody can now easily change the colors of their wiki page.
Here's an example:
http://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?tit ... SS/Example
That's a 5 second mock-up of maf-black and it doesn't look good but it's there for the sake of example.

A script has been added which changes the setup category pages to show how many players are in each setup. Instead of A being 1 player and Z being 26 it just says "1" or "26". An option for variable setups is also being added.
This change should be fully implemented in the coming few days, see Category:SetupPage for an example though.

Work has also started on adding missing roles like "goo", if you have any roles or role modifiers you want added please say so.

How hard would it be to make an automatic setup formatter for the wiki? Would universalize how setups look on the wiki and would make it easier to do if you just input things.

Just curious.

Automatic, eh.
Hard.
And long.
If even possible.
As everyone writes them differentely.

if i could had a way to handle arbitrary differences like that!
so much would be easier :(

It's possible, but I'd have to change them all manually to allow it in the future.
Which isn't so bad seeing how I added other stuff to all pages.

wgeurts I wanted to add a category for open setup contest setups

Is that all good

I don't want to mess with your category system without checking with you

Go ahead, make sure it ends with "Setups" so I can fiddle and add it to the auto sort thing.
Do you know how to update the nav or should I?

If you could that'd be great

Otherwise I'll try to fiddle and figure it out.
