You'll have to be fast, though, so I would recommend toggling off the 'Preview' function, if you want to be a skilled Treasure collector. If a cache of treasure does get released, I'll momentarily lock the thread and apply a 24-hr deadline. This gives enough notice. Once deadline resolves and thread is unlocked, it will be a furious free-for-all for the treasure.  Players will know in each Vote Count who has which treasure, and the accrued value each player has.
"

We all live in different time zones and have different periods of free time. First Come First Served gives some players an unfair advantage.

In a game Ika hosted there were raffle drawings for each ability, maybe something like that here? Each player has 24 hours to opt in to each drawing?

Hm...

If I were to go for raffles instead, there'd be no opting in or out. Players would be randomly given an item, or nothing. And if we go this route, we'd need treasures to be exchanging hands, so the players can have some modicum of freedom in getting the treasures they want, since they can't make a mad dash for it.

The gist of it is to have chunks of treasure being released, and the possibility of players being able to take one during that time (no taking two or more). I know that in the Kirby game itself, that little guy had to come upon each treasure, and the player would press 'Up' on the control pad to nab it. I don't know. With the Time Zone issue that is a legitimate thing to consider. If we take time out of the equation, we'll have to leave it to randomization... and conquest. Players will be able to do things in order to take the treasures they want... Thinking it over. Also considering PT threads that function as scenarios where the player can complete it and take the treasure in it.

I haven't hammered that out yet.

There won't be any investigation abilities at work. Haven't settle on how many rare treasures will grant killing. I have to be careful, because it could turn out that those treasures become highly sought after and get used as much as possible.

Isn't The Great Cave Offensive originally from the SNES game Kirby Super Star?

Because I played that a lot as a kid.

Yes, yes it is.

I played that quite a bit as a kid, too. :P

how about an idea that summons "someone" outside the game to be able to post/talk privately with the player about the game for a single day phase?

Its a big thing but it seems cool tbh

*Need moar inspiration.

I want to have these 60 unique treasures in the game and have them circulated.

But as KC pointed out, I'm not sure how exactly to go about that process.

If treasures are released and it's a mad dash for each batch of treasure, those who are in different time zones and those who have lives will suffer.

Maybe I should experiment with a randomizing mechanic that will/may dole out one treasure to each player during X-times.

I like this idea. I like the best friends mechanic as well.

Wake-just dole out the treasures like you said-during certain times so it isn't dependent so much on when someone is online.

I was thinking that, if I released chunks of treasure, it'd be at the start of each Day, and there'd be a deadline beforehand to make all players aware. To make it fairer, I'd make it so that at that time players can only nab one treasure at a time. Methinks I should refine it further to make it so that, come start of Day 2 and on, players cannot nab additional treasures until other players have at least gotten one (whether all have gotten at least one, or a percentage: still working on it).

Still haven't had time to imbue each treasure with a special ability that'd work well in a Nightless 30-player game. I do want them all to be very useful and fun.

I have no friggin' idea.

After my Normal Mini resolves, I'm thinking I only have to mod a Large Normal game in order to host a Large Theme game.

How long that will take is a good question.

Why does the second one need to be large?

Oh, and if you're struggling to find a backup mod for that, I'm available if need be.

In order to run a Large game with more than 21 players, you have to first successfully complete modding a Large game. Mine intends to be @ 30 players.

30-player Nightless is gonna require the game to be so explosive with creative and continuous abilities that it'll likely be one of the biggest games to have ever happened here, at least posting-wise. Some players here know I have some very creative muscles to flex. :D

You can be a backup mod, but I'd like it better if you played instead. Absolutely your choice though. :)

Oh, of course I'm playing in this. I was talking about the large game ~

I forgot about the 21 players cap. Yea, that makes sense then.

Wake-You should take Aero up on the co-mod for your Large Normal.

I would most definitely play in your large theme-that looks too darn cool not to play.

I'm seriously trying to cut back my games to only 2 at a time (maybe 3 if one is a micro or newbie IC game) and that's it so give me some notice is all I ask.

Yea, I really am excited for this game, whenever it happens.

And yea I've recently realized that keeping your games down makes the experience much more enjoyable than endless prod dodging and defending your own absence.

Aero, you're my co-mod/backup for the upcoming Large Normal if you want it. :)

I'll definitely give you notice, Wolfie. This game, when I'm done with it, will be insane. Heh...
