What sort of fake claims do you like to make? Usually I claim something that is not possible in the role list to confuse scum into slipping. Then I just lynch who ever votes me.

Never.
If you are a doctor you should probably fakeclaim

As town, I don't fakeclaim, and if you did this in a game where I was town, I'd tear you to shreds. Unless I'm Serening. You never really can tell what Town Serene will do.
As scum, I claim whatever keeps me alive to continue my murder. If I have to change my claim, I will, though I know it's a well-known scumtell for me to change my claim. But I keep getting away with it, so
yeah, tracker/watcher is great because very often you get no results/meaningless results/can guess
jailkeeper is great because its hard to prove + can get someone lynched via framing + often times you have roleblocker + you know who you're going to shoot as scum and therefore always have a reason why people keep dying
Doc is also good if you can back it up with your play. It helps if you no-kill at some point to give it a bit of oomph.
I've never faked doc, but I've caught fake docs. I've claimed BP and then no-killed enough times that for a while the no-kill gambit was one of my signatures
Like, I cannot stress how bad that logic is. "If I make an impossible claim, only scum will vote me."
No. If you make an impossible claim, you should be burned at the stake by all righteous townies and if anything, scum won't even have to push your wagon
I find fake claims to be funny, i have seemingly reached a point where people disregard my claims altogether cus i have been known to soft fakes as a VT with the intent to die

This doesn't work as far as making scum slip. If you're lucky you'll draw a NK, but that's about it. Most of the time people will think you're some kind of scum role like traitor trying to hint yourself to the mafia. People really *should* write off impossible claims as just jokes, but many read too much into everything.
If you're going for the joke value though, by all means do. I personally reccomend claiming Beloved Princess Jester.

This is probably a very bad thing and should hurt your chance to win as both alignments as town should never listen to you. As a town PR, it gets yourself lynched and significantly hurts town win chances. As scum it makes it impossible to get out of a lynch with a claim. Any plan that's results discredit you in your meta to the extent where the game should ignore you is essentially playing against your win condition.
In all town should exceedingly rarely (rarely is not every other game) fakeclaim, even if you are forced to claim VT as VT early, you can at times get out of it. Scum should have a few fakeclaims they have laid out throughout the game, then just pick the best one to suit your situation and what the setup is trending towards (if even using it).
I usually fake claim daycop or daytracker with guilty result when I have a gut read early day 1. It simultaneously ends RVS and gives me an excuse to push my target.
