If someone calls you a duck and you know you’re not a duck, you can ignore them.
If a second person calls you a duck, you can probably ignore them, too.
About the third time someone calls you a duck, you might want to start checking for feathers.

They are not very humble, and not only do they do things that look extremely stupid to experienced players with years of experience, but they immediately put themselves on the same level as these players too.

MS definitely has the highest number of newbs compared to any site which hosts mafia. I have noticed a lot of mislynches in different games which were dominated by players of less experience, and completely devoid of experienced players.

So there is the problem, now here is the solution. We have not been hazing newbs enough! Seriously, we need to demean newbs the moment they enter the game. Don't address them by their real names, just call them newbs and stick by it. Otherwise they are going to bring down the win rates of all the experienced players. Come on guys, you have been way to nice to newbs. While we are at it, we might as well limit their rights on the site too.

How's about instead of hazing them we teach them better?

The last newbie game I was in the IC and other SE were barely there. I was an SE and helped out some but didn't want to step on the IC's toes. So, I've gotten in the newbie queue as an IC and intend to instruct as much as I can. Not that that makes good mafia players overnight (I'm not all that good yet), but teaching them some of the accepted wisdom and conventions seems like a better way of producing quality players than hazing them.

I spend my first two years bragging about my scum win rate (and laughing at how I pulled some of them off). I then finally got lynched as scum, and no longer cared about winning. Although I think it's stopped keeping track of my Winrate before that happened, it was definitely the last straw though
