Definition of "Finished game" with revivors

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Fri Dec 11, 2015 1:45 am

Post by BNL »

A game is considered finished if "that player has been eliminated from the game by lynch, nightkill, or other mechanics, but the game is not over yet".

But there is one problem: What if the game has a revivor (or reviving mechanic)?

Certainly the same cannot be true, or else if a person hitting the limit gets eliminated from this game, then joins another game, then gets revived, this would push him over the limit.

The reason why I'm asking this is because I was lynched on Day 1 in Micro 549, but I got the PM that I would be revived. At that point I had two other finished games, and I wanted to join a Newbie game. Would I have been put into the Newbie queue or SE queue? (I guess I could have PMed Mina about the game status, but them again, I didn't join the Newbie game in the end) Still would like to have this standardised.

I think you can play into a newbie game as a newbie slot as long as you never played in a newbie game, right?

I don't think you count as eliminated if you can still be revived.

As far as game requirements for anything I'm pretty sure it doesn't count as finished until the mod says Game Over, regardless of whether you're already dead or not.

the newbie queue distinguishes between finished (they're dead but the game isn't over) and completed (the game is over) to define newbies; a player who is dead in 10 ongoing games but has no completed ones is not really a newbie.

Revivers are exceedingly rare. Making rules to specifically account for them is wasted effort given that, at most, someone may enter a game with slightly more experience, or be in too many games at once.
Taking a break from the site.

Is micro 549 over? If it is not this thread should be.

I honestly don't know if it is but figured I'd warn before things go down hill

never mind it is over. I agree with chamber since there no guarantee you would be revived and since it would not be long you would be alive in too many games
