When is it optimal to release your case

When do you think it is optimal in releasing a case on a scumread? Is there such a thing as 'too early' or 'too late'? Is this something that should matter to me in my mind (in getting a scumread lynched).

If I feel like my words have weight behind them, I will always lead scumreads into my case so that it's significantly harder to wiggle out of it. This generally means I clarify the assumptions I made and then link them together later.

The other 99% of the time, I just push and make shit up because my gut doesn't like to tell me why I'm scumreading things.

If no one listens, you reiterate it.

If they continue to ignore you, then just drop it. If at the end game the scum win and your scum read got away just point at your case and say "I told you so"

It sounds like a joke, but this may be true.

Unless you're waiting for something (preferably specific) to happen that you don't want to spoil by posting a case, there isn't such a thing as "too early" once you've collected enough evidence. However, if momentum is on someone who is at least vaguely scummy, wait until you can get a read on that player before launching your case.

If you tend to be someone who dies during the Night, there is such a thing as "too late."

Don't drop a case if you're being ignored because then you become That Guy in the post-game. There may be a reason behind your being ignored, and you want to root that out as soon as possible. Be annoying about your case. Start bugging people individually about why they're not giving it attention. Aim for the most likely town player who happens to have more charisma than you.

if it's page 1 or 2 you should wait a few pages because nobody will believe you're seriousserious not just pretending to be serious because you're trying to get the game going.

also if you have a secret tell on someone you should wait a few pages after they do it so that it'll be harder for them to find out what the tell was.

Yeah I've seen good cases go unheeded because they were post (x)x3 or (x)x4 whereby the (x)x5 was a pagetop.

If you get it near the top of the page, that means maximum exposure.

I have to agree with this one. Sometimes I don't make a case and just wagon with something like "I support this." Sometimes you happen to be in a game where people will scumread you for making a case. Sometimes you're in a game where people will break down your case, gradually leading to them scumreading you. Sometimes it's best to keep things simple.

If you're the first person to lead town by providing your case, in order to mass votes though - go for it.

It really depends if you're trying to lead, co-lead, or follow into things. I think in any situation regarding cases for why someone is scum though, you should think out possible reactions. Sometimes your case makes sense to yourself but it sounds like gibberish to others. This is also why it's a great idea to make sure you come across clearly - proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar certainly helps, as well as chunking posts and paragraphs for easier reading on the eyes.
