I see some problems with this, though. Goons normally have a nightkill, and both humans and software tend to assume this. (For example, the automatic role PM generation thing we have on the wiki will talk about the nightkill in a Mafia Goon's role PM.) It also means that you need to place a note saying "nightless" in order to understand how the roles work, which makes setup descriptions a little messier. Especially for Open setups, being able to give a list of roles as a one-liner would be helpful so that it can easily be dropped into the Open queue, lists of setups, etc. without taking up a lot of space.
As such, I'd like it if there would be some standardised name that's used for a player with the following properties:
- Wins with a specific Mafia team (or possibly Werewolves if we're using that flavor, but that tends to change role names)
- Full factional membership knowledge (i.e. they know the other Mafia are on their team, and vice versa)
- Daytalk with the other Mafia (because the role is typically intended for use in a Nightless, thus daytalk should be the default)
- No access to the factional nightkill (and no factional nightkill full stop unless there are other Mafia roles involved)
This would make it possible to place the role in setup descriptions, role PMs, etc.. (Also, if there were no roles with night actions in the setup, this would make it clear that a Nightless was involved simply from the list of roles in the setup, so you wouldn't need a separate "nightless" disclaimer.)
I thought I'd ask about it here in MD, because a) I don't have any particularly good naming ideas, and b) I don't want to go around editing all the Nightless setups on the wiki until people have confirmed that that's a good idea. So, a) any ideas for such a name, and b) should this be something that I try to force into the sitewide meta or just something that happens within my own games?
