Question about busdrivers regarding...

I have a question regarding the busdriver role and its target regarding trackers and watchers (and I guess followers/voyeurs/etc).

Suppose A is the busdriver and targets himself and B. B then visits Player C.

If the tracker Checks the busdriver, player A, what would the results be? What about if he targets players B.

Same goes for a watcher role doing both of those things.

1. Bus drivers who can self-target are an abomination and should be purged in fire.

2. Bus driver switches targets. So:

Track A => redirected to Track B => "B visited C."

Track B => redirected to Track A => "A visited A, B."

Watch A => redirected to Watch B => "A visited B."

Watch B => redirected to Watch A => "A visited A."

Shouldn't it be "Your target visited C" (and likewise for the other results)? I feel like much of the point of a busdriver is lost if it's specified to the investigative that their target was changed.

I mean, you could?, but I don't see the reason to make busdriver more powerful than it already is. Maybe I would do that for a Town busdriver, but for a Mafia busdriver it just seems like overkill to include false reports in with everything else.

The proper answer is that Busdriver is a bad role and you shouldn't use it unless you are in an explicitly open set-up.

Really it frightens me to see threads like this because people clearly have plans to use bus drivers in their games, and nothing good will come of that...

The main use for busdrivers is stress-testing action resolution frameworks. You don't actually put them in your game, you just check to see whether your resolution system could handle one if it had to.

Bus drivers can be fun in role madness games, but they're borderline bastard out of them. I maintain that any townie who draws Bus Driver should sit his ass down and be a named townie*.
