Daychat/Nightchat websites?

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Fri Aug 26, 2016 8:51 am

Hey guys! Whenever I have hosted mafia games on a different forum, I've always used the website "chatzy" for mafia, masons, graveyard chat and such.

The problem I've found with chatzy is that it doesn't let you go far back in the history, and doesn't save history unless you pay for a premium account which is a ridiculous price of $129 per ROOM that you want to create for a year.

I figured you are the mafia experts so I would like to know if there is a better website or program out there that I can use that is as simple as chatzy (let's me create rooms quickly and send a URL to other players without having to have them donwload an app to setup, saves history, and is free or very fairly priced)?

I have been considering IRC, but unfortunately the web application does not save chat either, I would have to host a permanent bot through the application to store histories of chats.

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

People mostly used QuickTopic before we added similar native technology.
Taking a break from the site.

Use Private Topics on this website.
There's nothing that says that a fake can't beat the real thing.

You must not imagine that for beings like you and us there can be laughter. The low men laugh, and we envy them. But for us, the higher ones, there is no laughter, only an unending vigil, purely serious, stretching on into the night.

I believe if Skype games still happen, they would be using quick topic

Mod note: I moved this thread to Mafia Discussion, as that's where it fits.

Oh, I see. I'll have to go and figure out how to make a private topic, thanks for the help!

On this site, use Private Topics. (Go to the Private Topics forum and click on "New Topic". You need private topics permission; this is given to all game moderators and I think there's a way you can apply for it in other circumstances, e.g. setup reviews.)

For games run offsite, quicktopic.com is pretty good. We used to use it as standard here before private topics were invented. The main disadvantage is that the only authentication on rooms is a random string in the URL, so if someone posts the room URL publicly, anyone can look at it.
