Jailkeeping a claimed Cop

Theory question: I played a game off site in which I was the jailkeeper. Should a cop had claimed and I was the only protective role alive, what would be pros/cons of jailkeeping that doctor, even if it were only for one NP? On one hand, the doctor would be roleblocked and would be unable to investigate a suspected player. On the other hand, it would prevent the scum team from killing the obvious kill choice and keep one more town player alive.

I don't think doctors can investigate players.

Well that depends on a few things.

1. Is it an open setup/is there a reason for scum to believe there is a protective? If so, scum might not kill the cop so it'll just backfire.
2. Is there another obvious kill choice or is the cop suspected by some people? Again, if so, scum might not kill the cop so JKing might backfire.
3. Is there reason to believe scum might have a strongman
4. Is there someone in particular that really needs investigating?

With that said, I think there is definitely some value in getting another lynch (essentially what the JKing the cop does) and, maybe more importantly, WIFOMing scum so they might not kill the cop on future nights.

Assuming no other protective, if there are multiple scum alive, I would save the cop. If there is 1 scum alive, you are way better than the cop anyways and should find your own guilty/inno.

So, if there is a roleblocker, they roleblock the doctor and kill the cop. But if there is not a roleblocker, they just kill the doctor.
So you aren't sure if there is a roleblocker or not?

1 Mafia Y-shot Rolecop
1 Mafia Y-shot Doctor
1 Mafia Y-shot Framer
1 Town X-shot Cop
1 Town X-shot Jailkeeper
1 Town X-shot Vigilante
7 VTs

There was only a jailkeeper and no actual doctor; thus the only role to protect the claimed cop was the jailkeeper.

It's probably worth jailkeeping a claimed cop on the chance that the claimed cop is actually scum and they decide to pretend to claim more results being that they should be blocked and all.

I like to say exactly what I'm going to do while also saying I'm not going to and then doing it

Also fun is saying I'm absolutely not going to do something like Docing someone and then doing it anyway
