Team Mafia

Three (two?) players on a team all play under one account. Group posts, votes, and uses night actions as though they were one player. Teammates may discuss amongst themselves privately at all times. Game setup would be a relatively standardized twelve-account game (maybe more, but that might get out of hand?)

I'm sure a similar idea has been done somewhere before, I'd just like to try it with different people all posting on the same account.

Pros:
*Teams would be responsible for finding their own replacements. Useful for lazy moderator (me).
*Game will remain active, as it only takes one active player per team for that account to be fairly represented.
*A reasonable way for me to carry out a 30+ player game without it being ridiculous.
*Three minds going into one vote, more thought process, less stupid posts.

Cons:
*Teams dissenting amongst themselves. Might need to implement rule so two people on a team don't change their vote back and forth. Teammates disagreeing with each other is the biggest issue I see for this game.
*Mafia would be made up of 2-3 accounts, which is 6-9 people. That's a lot of people all talking with each other over one nightkill. Especially difficult without CC private message function. May need to create separate private forum (I would handle this myself) for mafia to discuss.
*Unoriginal game name. Also, I refuse to name it Two-Headed Giant Mafia, despite MTG obsession.

Other thought: Keep team rosters public or private? Public has obvious benefits and people could clarify who is posting when an account posts, but private opens up interesting strategic play and possible creative role design.

BMQ demands helpful feedback and suggestions, as well as free money.

I belive this has already been done, and was called Two-Headed Mafia.

I would be up for that. But would people be able to choose their own teams or would the teams be picked for us. There are some people I would like to play with, and some that I would hate.
Also, I would prefer for the team rosters to be public, otherwise we're playing blind mafia.
And I generally use e-mail when I'm scum, so that wouldn't be a problem. I got the general idea that most scum groups use methods other than PMing for discussion.

You would sign up as a team. This was my biggest inspiration for this game, being able to play with your MafiaScum buddies, and knowing you're on the same side.

EDIT: I are horrible at grammars.

To add to the joke, you definitely need to have two people modding under one account.

I would very much like to participate in something like this.

If you make 3-player accounts, you could implement a rule that says a majority of the 3 players should agree on a vote before it's being cast. Ofcourse, this could slow the game down, but the game might get quite chaotic otherwise.

I believe there already are a few forums like this, and if they could handle the traffic, I think it would be no problem to have people talk there (mafia discussion as well as account discussion).

Multiple Personality Disorder Mafia?

I personally think private would be more fun, although public might lead to better play.

Well.. I suggest that, aside from people signing up as a team, you could also have people sign up on their own, if they can't find any buddies willing to play. Ofcourse, buddies playing together might make things more solid and fun for everyone.

Also, I'd be very, very /in this. Either as player or as second-personality mod ;) I've got lots of ideas.

Two headed mafia suffered from quite a bit of inactivity, which eventually caused one person having to play for "both sides" of her "head" which was demanding. You'll need to figure out a solution to this problem, I think, because multiple players per role = more replacements.

I suggested Hydra Mafia in scumchat a while back, which was literally double/triple-heading under one account.

The idea's definately worth looking at. Any ideas for a setup?

This sounds like fun - I'd most likely be up for it.

I'd be up for it, and I can think of a couple of ideal teammates.

Or you just have me keep track of vote counts.

I want to play, but only if I can be with my friend JDodge. Or Fonz. Fonz is preferable.

Troj + Thok = Trok, obviously. All too easy.

Though whether he'd want to be my partner is another story...

We can have a Glork-Thok-Trojan H team, and call it Glrok Trok.

You're too kind, Quagmire. However, I'm sure there are plenty of players who wouldn't be afraid of being overshadowed by my sheer awesomeness/majesty.

Unless, of course, you meant that I'm so great that I wouldn't even need any partners, making my figurative partner a nonexistent person known as "Nobody". I must admit, your meaning was unclear.
