Women are better at things -> men say women must be doing things like multitasking or intuition or (insert buzzword) -> hooray sexism -> women are still better at things.
Sorry I'm being silly but rb dodged your question so I had to answer
hi meet my mafiascum gravestone, the flowers were probably left by camn or schadd or Prism, blow them kisses for me would you?
There's nothing that says that a fake can't beat the real thing.
You must not imagine that for beings like you and us there can be laughter. The low men laugh, and we envy them. But for us, the higher ones, there is no laughter, only an unending vigil, purely serious, stretching on into the night.

Differing views should be celebrated and not treated as an obstacle and imo the sooner people learn to be able to collaborate with others who are seeing things a different way to them the sooner Town meta on MS will start being able to hold its own.
A town that fakeclaims should be informed that a relative that they like but that lives far away has died, and that they have inherited a fortune, contingent on the fact that they attend the funeral. They will then make a trip there, only to have the coffin spring open and the "dead relative" climb out of the coffin and mock them for having been made a fool off and come all this way for a phony inheritance while all the other funeral goers will laugh in a mean way and pelt them with rotten fruit.
Only then will they know what it is to be betrayed by someone you should have been able to trust

I know, I know, I'm a softie. I should've made it more lethal.

Not relevant unless your read on a slot / the gamestate is affected by a gambit or fakeclaim.
@Accountant you were in my second newbie, are you proud of me? In my last newbie I fakeclaimed VT then BP then VT again then lastly claimed Doc and if I hadn't made each of those claims then I guarantee I wouldn't have been able to lynch both scum consecutively without letting a single Town-aligned player die.

Very good, young Padawan. When you achieve true mastery of the living Force, you will be able to lynch both scum consecutively without the need for fakeclaims, as Master Accountant does*.
*Disclaimer: I have never done this shit. You are probably a better scumhunter than me.

tbh if you're the kind of player who can detect when a town will actually benefit from 'anti-town' play, guides like this aren't for you. and/or you're outside of the intended audience for 'advice' really.
i think guides should teach 'the ideal' though, and players will naturally work out the in-between for themselves. the amount of players i've seen do the most absurd things as town thinking it's "good play" far outweighs the number of times i've seen a town gambit result in a town win
I think that if a magician cast a spell on everyone compelling them not to fake claim as town, town would win more games and games would be, overall, more pleasant to play. Town would miss some wins, it's true(like nancy's newbie), but the overall win rate would increase because there's no more nonsense.

The Town cohesion bit I do not understand flatout.
It pretty much reads "Do whatever the loudest" people want. That isn't cooperation IMHO. That is bullying dissenting voices into submission.
ScumBlade's eloquent performance left me utterly disoriented, debased, depraved and sent me spiraling into a horrific murky abyss with emotional turmoil and immense despair as my only companions until slowly I suffocate in my own gloom, surrounded by failure. That has pretty much become the standard of MS anyway.
You have to scream pull and kick to get anything even read and even more to be listened to.
I have tried lemonade numerous times and said I will vote in these X people and told I am not flexible enough when X+1 is a townread by maths.

I have only done it once but it was with the cooperation/knowledge of the person claiming the role and in the scum PT the deception worked.

One instance where a fake claimed role works is when Frogger fakeclaimed Masons with Jae during Making Friends and Enemies to draw out associatives on Grendel. That worked because he had a guilty and was planning to out and claim the real result after a couple RL days.
