Posting restrictions, decided by the players?
What if players in a game got to vote on whether to restrict a player's posting? Maybe a 2/3 majority vote for it to take effect, and it'd probably only take effect for a few days. I could describe specifics, but I just want feedback on the idea. Seems nice on the surface, but how could it actually harm the game? There's a fine line between genius and sociopathy.

It is a problem. In post 2, Lil Uzi Vert wrote:Hypoposting is not the problem.
But the hyperposting problem and the bad town problem aren't connected and I feel like that's the point you're trying to establish here.| here.GTKAS- Lil Uzi Vert

I'm just so used to seeing posting restrictions brought up as a solution for the bad town problem.- Alisae

Well regardless this isn't a thread complaining about bad towns
But um
Yoshi if you want a solution when it comes to hyerposting honestly you should try out the Vi Battery when you mod a theme game. It can be a bit of work but it's probably worth the change in the end.
Or another idea is to give a reward to people for not hyperposting. As in give them something they'll want. The more they want it the more they'll try to not hyperpost. Sometimes rewards work better then punishments| here.GTKAS- Lil Uzi Vert

I think what's starting to happen when it comes with hyperposting though is more and more mods are pushing ways to deal with the trend, but also it could have to do with the environment. Like if the environment isn't posting as much, then you don't have the impulse to post as much. Or if everyone is hyperposting, then suddenly you feel the urge to hyerpost. I am forgetting what it's called but it's some type of learning theory that's being applied here.| here.GTKAS- Alisae

honestly
now that I'm thinking about it while things like Vi Battery can help, it's best to attempt to be the change you want to be in the environment.
You want more players like Regfan in your town who provide quality over quanity?
Then make an attempt to explain your thought process in a paragraph and be transparent with your thought processes and reads. Writing more will lead to less posts being made, as it takes time to write the post and put all of your thoughts into it. It'll also help you keep your thoughts straight.
At the end of the day it all comes to this:
Reward the behavoir you want.
If people see a behavoir being rewarded, then they'll want to emulate that behavoir to be rewarded.| here.GTKAS- Lil Uzi Vert

I think one of the main problems I'm finding is that most people have a need to be right. Whatever they say, they want it to be true and for other people to accept it as being true. At the very least, they want to avoid appearing wrong. For this purpose, one of two strategies tend to be used. One way is to strongly assert things we say to be true, sending an unspoken message that we will not tolerate challenge. The other way is to use qualifiers in what we say, for example saying something 'might' happen so when it does not, we can say we did not say it would happen.
Another one is play but that's a more complex one in my opnion. I can't for the life of me figure out why people are taking on the game the way they do. - Lil Uzi Vert
