How come we don't have Blitz Queue?

Because numerous blitz games at once suck most of the life out of other queues, and overall participation in games decreases, iirc. It wasn't healthy for the site as a whole to have a dedicated queue for blitz games.

I do think that 2 weeks/day is a bit much. However, an entire game that only lasts the same period would be both frantic and hard to keep up with.

zoraster posted numbers for player slot count and number of games run during the trial of the Blitz Game Queue from November 2015 to January 2016 that can be found in this post.

Essentially, while the queue served a niche, a separate queue was not justified given its site-wide impact.

Ohh lool the blitz queue should remain as it is now. I'm kind of thinking modding blitz games once a month specifically for people who like it, but that depends with my schedule and my determination to mod a game.

Again, you can literally run a blitz game at ANY time. It's great if you want to participate in the month o' blitz, of course, but keep in mind that it's ALWAYS been allowed in the theme queues.

So if the demand is there, it is a matter of modding it yourself, or asking your favorite moderator you consider running one. We'll see how it goes in November with the special event...but remember the option is always there. Someone just has to be willing to take it. I would love if a few dedicated mods ran Blitzs in the Mini Theme queue year round. I think there are enough players willing to play...but for some reason, game mods aren't willing to mod...or aren't considering it as a possibility.

Well, reviewing setup really takes times, and I don't really mind modding bltz games. I'd just need to find my willingness, but I will surely do it.

The design and review effort is just as high as a game that lasts months. And the demands on the mod's time are much higher during the game. It's fun to mod blitz games, but is pretty intense. Finding a deadline time that works for people in MANY timezones is also much more important than in game days that last 2 weeks. I usually wind up waking up at dark-thirty several times to either end a game day or start one.

They aren't insurmountable obstacles, but mods need to think about the logistics if they want to run a blitz game.

I plan to run one in November.

I mod blitz games off site and there was this game where people hammered someone when I was asleep and had to wait for me for more than 10+ hours to come in because I also have school and things.
