People can argue they like the idea behind geriatric but not execution.
For example I very much dislike the idea of modkilling players because they broke rules and posted too much.

Dismissing criticism as “just don’t play it” is kind of as useless as the argument “it’s the worst idea ever, don’t rver play it”

why is it such an issue? Obviously there's some issues that can come with the ruleset just like there are issues that come with a non-geriatric ruleset.

My (more passively than actively) playstyle wouldn't work on a geriatric game, still some players manage to play that kind of game.

The ruleset is inherently scum sided.

No, it's not. The current sight meta of spamming the game into oblivion is extremely scum sided, as is pretty evident through the rate of town wins on this site declining at a pretty a fast rate, as the spam meta continues.

The only way the ruleset is scumsided is when players don't utilize their posting for anything. If you're going to waste your limit making useless one-word posts and in general being callous about actually getting anything done, then yeah, it'd be scumsided. But that makes ANY game scumsided. The point of the geriatric rulset is to stop people from doing that, and instead to actually play the game of mafia.

Geriatric ruleset essentially eliminates both of those, so. If you're looking for an easy way to hide as a lurker, please see a normal overblown mafia game.

Even if they are, every other player is going to have to spend hours reading it and is going to have trouble seeing what's scum motivation that way.

It's not useless, it's completely valid. You're complaining about a game mode that a lot of people love and that you personally don't like, and don't HAVE to be a part of. It's not effecting your experience at all, and is enhancing the experience of others who want to play in a different way, why care?

The hyperposting IS the meta. They HAVE to deal with it. There's no "Hyperposting Mafia Ruleset" that is only going to be present for 1% of the games in the queue; it's EVERY game. So obviously you're going to get ignored if you say "Well you don't HAVE to hyperpost" because that's not the point at all.

It wasn’t every game and not every player was a hyper-poster. We suggested blacklisting people who they felt hyper posted and got ignored.

It really is like most games, especially large ones. If you blacklist hyperposters, you're not going to have many people left to play with.

A lot of players will never touch a large game because it's literally impossible to follow. Mafia shouldn't be this game that you need to focus your whole life on, I should be able to come home from work or school or whatever and be able to catch up pretty quick on what I missed.
