A nomination is a nomination. The awards are judged on their merit, independent of who nominated them. Make all the noms you feel are worthy, Fumuki.

That said, self-noms would likely be considered poor form at best.

its optimal to nominate them again
And generally judges won't care who the nominator is.

In post 172, Pine wrote:I concur, but discouraging noms is not the way. A big part of the reason many of the awards people want to see were removed is that they didn't get noms. There were several years where Mastina was the only nominee for Professor Mafia, and other awards that didn't get any noms at all. While I believe the streamlining went too far, please do not discourage people from nominating.

If you feel someone is worthy of consideration by the judges, please do not hesitate at all. The judges know a subpar nom when they see one, and are capable of sorting. MathDino, the judges are also entitled to take antinoms into consideration, and I think your recent posts would count as one.
I'm not? I just think there exists some thin purple line between passionately being involved by nominating and overzealously nominating and cluttering things up and making extra work for the judges. I guess an example would be a shit ton (5? 10? 15?) noms for rising star. I agree the having multiple noms and having competition is a good thing but at some point, you need to judge yourself and say "ok, wich of these are the best and I want the judges to look over them."

There not being a single game town award (unless you count Kodak) is a joke though but its not like the scummies have had a good reputation since like '12.

I find myself agreeing with this portion.

I'm not sure if I'm doing this right, but I'd like to
Nominate implosion: For Best Mechanic/Mutation in Mini 2011: Partition Mafia viewtopic.php?f=23&t=76227

Playing a game where you had to be in groups was incredibly fun and made it more enjoyable. As scum you had to make sure to make the groups right or it would be very easy to lose, and from town perspective they're forced to possibly lynch their townreads to lynch scum as well.

Not sure If this has been done before, the groups thing. But, I think he stated it hadn't been.

I'd nominate
MagikHorse
for rising star, they've played strong games since joining.

I kinda want to nom Plotinus for best mod even though IDEK if they do games outside the newbie queue....

Newbie Queue is a valid queue for Best Mod. Honestly I'd love to see more recognition of the valiant mods who toil away on Newbies.

Plotty has done some great games before! Good choice Quicky :)

Also ya don't bombard the noms that's why it is hard to get judges amd the process takes a long time which only delays the ceremony and makes the judges unhappy ty ty

I nominate
MariaR
for "Best Setup - Rube Goldberg", over the game
Maria's Anime Binge
: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=75978

1)
18 roles each with 4 inter-changable utilities. Holy shit.
2)
Anime was an awesome flavor; and the alignment/roles were impacted by anime because:
Picks>Alignment>Roles
. Made everything interesting.
3)
A lot of setup to review, explain, and manage within the game.
4)
Unconvential roles and some things that I haven't really heard of before were present in this game, but it worked. :D

These are the main points behind me believing this game is deserving of a scummie, and an audience beyond the playerlist.

Nominate Ruby Red for Rising Star

Basically my current mafia hero

Great reads, loads of charisma and confidence , overall a powerful, disrespectful and unwavering addition to any playerlist

The only thing that discourages me from this nomination is that I suspect she'll be a serious Paragon contender by the end of the year

Talking about Paragon, do incumbents have term limits?

Only self-imposed. Candidates are capable of, should they wish to, self-disqualifying themselves from the award.

But failing that, yes, if Ellibereth is nominated again--and yes he is eligible for 2018 Paragon because of his gamebreaking THIS year in multiple towngames--he can and would win it again.

Can we have a category for most spirit, or at least he's trying to be fun?

I could possibly win one of them. I don't think anyone can deny I have improved my RVS play in that I'm hilarious now.

We used to have both, actually, under the names "Best Performance in a Losing Cause" (which was more or less cut because it was deemed redundant with town/scum awards) and an award which I can't remember the exact title of but I believe was something like "Funniest Poster". (Which I don't actually remember the reason it got cut for, maybe a combination of deemed redundant with Kodak and the same players being nominated? I'd have to look it up.)
