Hollywoodland Hospital Mafia

An old man stood at the entrance of the hospital, seemingly lost. He'd wandered off from the dementia ward, or so it appeared. He did carry a fairly ornate ivory walking stick, and by 'Carry' I specifically mean 'Carry'. He didn't at all seem frail of stature - just mind. He walked to the reception desk, and asked the pretty young woman manning (womanning?) it if she sold cigarettes.
"Not that I smoke, mind you, I just want it for my dog Phydough".
He indicated to the floor as though pointing to his pooch. The woman at the desk spoke into her old fashioned phone, and within a moment, a large couple of nurses, built like tanks came out to lead the man inside.
"Y'all smell like legos" complained the old man.
Rather oddly, the nurses left the cane on the ground - to be forgotten by all and sundry.
