Compulsive Bodyguard Survivor


Each night, must submit a target. If target player is targeted by a night kill, you will die instead. You win if you survive and can joint with town or mafia.


In this topic: The role list for Superb Idea Mafia. In each post, post a Town Role, a Mafia Role, and a Third Party Role. Roles can be anything, a normal thing like a Cop or a weird thing like a Compulsive Firebreathing Serial Killer Jester. For Superb Idea Mafia, a mod simply takes this thread, sets the number of Town/Mafia/Third Parties (recommended 6/2/1 for Micro Games), determines each player's alignment and then randomizes between 0 - last post number for each player. Player gets the role of their alignment in that post.

Players could potentially use this in the same way as Grand Idea Mafia and just random a post and then random 1-10 (1-6 is town, 7-9 is mafia, 10 is third party) to determine which role a player gets.

Blank, off topic, or incomplete posts are replaced with a theoretical

Rules:
  • No Townies. Any Townies will instead be treated as a
    Town Businessman

  • No Mafia Goons. Any Mafia Goons will instead be treated as a
    Mafia Framer

  • Town must be Town. Mafia must be Mafia (not Werewolves or the like.) Third Party go crazy.
  • Doubles are allowed obviously.
  • If you post broken stuff I'm just not going to use them so up to you but yeah.
  • Roles that target other players are preferred but not required.
  • If you have ideas for more rules then just post about it (while posting roles.)
  • Unless otherwise stated, upon completing win condition, the third party player leaves the game and can joint with town or mafia.
Why:
  • So I can make a micro using this thread.
  • Grand Idea doesn't let me do this as easily.
  • Cause even if this is the only post I'm still making the game.
  • Cause one time I played Grand Idea and I got Vanilla Townie and I was very sad.
  • I don't imagine this'll outlive Grand Idea, once it starts to slow down to a stop I'll lock it.

Town Tuesday Enabler


While you are alive, the thread will be unlocked on Tuesdays. If you die, the thread will be locked on Tuesdays, although this will not cause night.



Mafia Mountainizer


While you are alive, all other roles in the game will be vanilla. Third party roles and non-mafia roles will all become vanilla town. If you die, then their original cards and alignments will divert back to their original cards.



Survivor Night Enabler


While you are alive, the nightphase of the game is enabled. If you die, the game will become nightless.

Win by surviving until the end of the game.

Vagrant


Each night,

choose another player to hide behind, causing all actions directly made against the Vagrant to fail.

If the target player is attacked, the Vagrant will die alongside them. If anyone tries to attack the Vagrant, the Vagrant will kill the target they are hiding behind. This kill does not cause the Vagrant to die.

Wins if alive in the final phase or the previous one and all threats to them have been eliminated. In the case of a 1-1 tie between the Vagrant and another player, the Vagrant always wins.

Kidnapper

Wins if alive in the final phase or the previous one and all threats to them have been eliminated. In the case of a 1-1 tie between the Kidnapper and another player, the Kidnapper always wins.


Trying to think of third party villains that won't cause town to potentially be double killed during night like a Serial Killer would -- for example, this one can only redirect the kill to mafia by protecting a strong town player in the process, which I imagine they will only try to do if mafia is threatening to win.

Are you interested in 3Ps that try to win on their own by eliminating everyone else, or would you prefer third parties in Superb Idea to always be the "Do X to exit game and win" type?

I have absolutely no preference, the only plan I have is to run it as a micro but that isn't to say serial killers and the like can't exist. Just wanted to see what ya'll would come up with.

Town Watcher


Each night, may submit a target. Will be informed of who visited the target at the end of the night.



Mafia Ambulence Chaser


Each night, may submit a target. Will be informed whether or not that player possesses an ability which can save others from being night killed through protection. For example, this includes Doctors, Jailkeepers, and Aliens, but not Roleblockers or One-shot Bulletproofs.

At the end of each night, will be passively informed of every player who was successfully targeted by a protective action (does not need to actually protect a kill, though).



Trauma Specialist


On the first and second night, may target up to two players. On all following nights, may target a single player.

Targetted players are immune to all kill attempts on the night they are targeted. However, if the target would have been killed if not for this ability, they will die unstoppably at the end of the following night.

If the Trauma Specialist targets themself, they are immune to all kill attempts and will not die on the following night if attacked.

Wins and exits the game if they target two separate players who are attacked. Self targets do not count for win condition.

Town Dark Demon


Anyone investigating you will receive a message saying that you are a frightening and evil Dark Demon.

Each night, you may cloak someone in darkness. They will be roleblocked, and will receive frightening visions of a random night action targeting them the next Night (if they weren't targeted the next Night, they will receive frightening visions of demons).




Mafia 1-shot Astral Demon


Once in the game during night, you may perform the factional nightkill as if you were strong-willed, untargetable, and the target had no abilities (the Astral Demon kill does indeed roleblock).




Reviled Demon Creature


You win if you die in any way other than elimination.

All investigative roles get unfavorable results on you, and any investigative role that sees your exact alignment sees you as a member of the largest scumteam.

However, while you are still alive, nobody other than you can win. If someone would normally win (such as a Jester being eliminated), they don't win until you die. You also have the Serial Killer wincon (You win when all threats to you are gone, and you are currently alive or were alive in the last phase, or nothing can prevent this from occurring.) to avoid a potential Scorched Earth scenario.





Would all roles with "no special abilities" count as Vanilla? E.g. Chocolate Townie is disallowed

The "no vanilla Town or Mafia" rules as written currently forbid someone from posting an Ascetic Townie while allowing a Chocolate Mafioso (or Chocolate Goon if you prefer) to be posted. If the intent is to avoid Vanillas and Named Vanillas make them forbid "You have no special abilities.", if you want to ban functional Vanillas as well idk how to write it but someone will probably post a Multitasking Townie which will only matter in the case of Inventors or other ways to grant actions.

Serial Bleeder


Once during the game at night, may submit a target. The target player will die unstoppably at the end of the following night, regardless of any protections they may have. Only rolestops or roleblocks can prevent this. If this ability is prevented, the Serial Bleeder will be informed of this and may attempt it again on another night.

The first time the Serial Bleeder is killed at night, they will instead die unstoppably at the end of three nights from when they were killed. If they are attacked again during this period, they will die immediately.

Wins if alive in the final phase or the previous one and all threats to them have been eliminated. In the case of a 1-1 tie between the Serial Bleeder and another player, the Serial Bleeder always wins.

Mafia Disloyal Supersaintizer


Each night, may submit a target. Target player will have Supersaint secretly added onto their existing role. If successful, the target will reflexively kill any player who is the hammering vote on their wagon. This action will fail if it targets someone aligned with the Supersaintizer.



Gravedigger Miller Bodyguard Unjester


Each night, may submit a target. If target player is targeted by a night kill, you will die instead.

Appears as
MAFIA
to all types of Cops. Appears to visit all players who are killed during the night in place of the real killers.

Wins if killed in any way other than an elimination.


Supersaintizer sounds broken but it has the drawback of being less helpful after it is discovered that the role exists, as hammers will always be leashed from that point on. Additionally, mafia become informed of something everyone else doesn't know, which can be potentially used against them. However, it should be fairly rewarding to a team that is doing well to control eliminations.

Each night, may submit a target. Will be informed of who the target visited at the end of the night. This ability will fail if there are less than two mafia-aligned players still alive.



Mafia Multitasking Compulsive Roaming Doctor


Each night,
must
submit a target. If target player is night killed, prevent it. Cannot target the same player more than once over the course of the game. This action may be done in conjunction with performing the factional kill. Can self target.



Role Cop Survivor


Each night, may submit a target. Will be informed of target player's exact role. Wins if alive during endgame.

Each night, you may render a player immune to night actions.

You win when a phase without any deaths has happened, or Town wins without ever reaching ELo or MeLo.
