If this card is picked for alignment, you have the same alignment as the alignment present in the game that wishes for the most people to die. For example, a Serial Killer may want everyone but themself to die, Mafia may want everyone but three Mafia members to die, and so on.

If this card is picked for role, you have the same role as a random player who has an alignment you cannot win with. For example, if you are town, you may get a random role from a mafia-aligned player.

Alignment:The mod chooses your alignment from the following list before picks:

Role:1-shot Role Re-roll
Once, at night, you may target a player. That player re-rolls their role card. If the result is empty and there is no substitution or re-roll, then the role is Vanilla.

If this card is picked for alignment, you have the same alignment as the alignment present in the game that wishes for the least people to die. For example, the Town may wish for everyone but eleven Town to die, the Mafia may wish for everyone but three Mafia to die, and so on.

If this card is picked for role, you have the same role as a random player who shares your alignment. You become Neighbours with that player. They are not informed of anything about this.

This card cannot be picked for role, unless all other cards have Empty Spaces and/or cannot be picked for role.
Then this card can be picked for the following role: Duel Winner(Your faction wins if only you and another player are alive. Parity wins are disabled for any faction with less than 2 members as long as you are alive)

As a member of the

you have a special condition under which you are star-aligned. (determined by alignment card) When you are star aligned, your actions have a greater effect. Being star-aligned lasts for one night, unless the conditions are met the next night as well.

starkin
have a one shot factional ability to star-align one member for that night, this ability is inherently strong-willed and multitasking. The starkin also have a factional visit each night, making one member visit a player for no effect.

You win when you compose >=50% of the currently alive players, after which you will leave and win the game. This does not end the game, unless the game would otherwise immediately end in a town win, in which case
town
loses.


You will be star aligned if the deciding vote was cast by Town the previous Day. While you are star aligned, you may charge someone with a mysterious energy.

Mysterious Eidolon: You start the game charged with a mysterious energy.

If you are charged with a mysterious energy, you may attempt to kill a player and gain a random invention (rolled from either the Grand Idea Mafia thread or the Deck of Astral Roles: Expanded Universe (any role in the Deck of Astral Roles thread, even those past #299) until you get an active ability). You will no longer be charged with a mysterious energy after this.

The mod chooses a role/alignment combination that was used in the last(this includes current) semi-open or open setup to be used in Newbie Games before picks. It becomes this card for the remainder of the game.

You may target a player at night in an attempt to kill them. If a player observes you making a kill, such as from the effects of Watcher, Tracker, Motion Detector, etc., kill them as well.

You win when all threats to you are gone, and you are currently alive or were alive in the last phase, or nothing can prevent this from occurring. Alternatively, you win and exit the game if a player observes you targeting another player. Members of this alignment always kill players who observe them.

Once, at night, you may target a player you do not share a aligment PT with, and give them a bomb, a gun or a vest.
Your target may reject the gift during the next day, if it does, you will open it instead. Otherwise, your target will open it at the end of that day.
A player opening the gift:
-dies if it is a bomb
-can attempt to kill a player once, at night if it is a gun
-will be protected from the first kill that targets that player if it is a vest.

Alignment / You are informed of the identity, alignment, and role of the player (other than yourself) whose role is the highest number in the Astral Roles thread. If there is a tie, break it with alignment roll number. That player and any members of their alignment cannot harm you in any way. You win if they win.

Welcome to the Deck of Astral Roles thread. This is a role list quite like Grand Idea Mafia that is going to be used in a 13-player Mini Theme I will be running. This will be more structured than the actual Grand Idea Mafia thread however.

The Deck of Astral Roles game is a custom Grandest Idea Mafia (Greatest Idea Mafia rules, but with a Grand Idea Mafia esque deck) with a size of 300 or 1000. For this game, the moderator randomizes a number from 0 to 999 or the last post if 999 doesn't exist yet (this specific range is known as the Deck of Astral Roles: Expanded Universe) three times for each player and gives role cards corresponding to the rolled post number. The player will then be asked to choose one card for their alignment, one card for their role, and to publically discard the remaining card. For the Classic Deck of Astral Roles, the randomization range is instead 0 to 299.

The Classic Deck of Astral Roles proper had a fixed alignment ratio. The ratio was 100

are a scumteam with a 1-shot factional kill and a 1-shot "alien tech" factional invention from a random active role in the Deck of Astral Roles that wins ties in endgame.
Cult
is a scumteam with one Cult Leader. The cult picks the Cult Leader from all the Cultists during pregame. Picking the Cult Leader adds on to the existing role and always works under any circumstance. The Cult Leader is a special role (which can be used with a personal ability as if it were a factional ability) that changes alignment to Cult, though it will fail on groupscum with living partners and will fail if either the Cult Leader or the target die that Night. The Cult Leader may not recruit more than 25% of the playerlist at one time. The Cult Leader will flip as a Cult Leader.

Not Known 15 originally has this post, however after I requested it to be removed (as this and their post were functionally identical), I feel like it's a little unfair to Not Known to not have some credit here.
